Explosión en un avión de Aerolíneas Argentinas en el aeropuerto de Nueva York

Se trata de la aeronave que debía cubrir el trayecto Nueva York-Buenos Aires en el vuelo AR1301. El desperfecto tuvo lugar en uno de los motores. No se registraron heridos

Un avión de Aerolíneas Argentinas sufrió esta noche un incendio en uno de sus motores cuando intentaba partir del aeropuerto John Fitzgerald Kennedy, de Nueva York, en dirección hacia la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Reportado por medios locales y personas que en ese momento se encontraban en el lugar, el incidente fue protagonizado por la aeronave de Aerolíneas Argentinas que debía cubrir el trayecto Nueva York-Buenos Aires en el vuelo AR1301.

El avión, un Airbus A330 cuya partida está prevista para las 15:25 (17:25 hora argentina) y se pospuso ocho por las fuertes tormentas de nieve que azotan la zona, presentó fallas técnicas que derivaron en una explosión de corta duración en uno de los motores cuando realizaba las primeras maniobras para comenzar el finalmente fallido despegue.

Alertado por la situación, personal del aeropuerto cerró de inmediato la pista y rodeó la zona con vehículos de emergencia. Una vez controlado el fuego, el avión abandonó la pista sin necesidad de asistencia alguna.

«El piloto fue quien informó sobre el suceso, pero al llegar al lugar nuestros equipos no vieron evidencias de fuego. Se debe haber tratado de un incendio de muy corta duración», indicó Steve Coleman, portavoz del aeropuerto.

Los bomberos de Nueva York, por su parte, informaron en su cuenta Twitter que habían recibido información de un incendio en JFK pero que ya estaba «bajo control».

Tanto los pasajeros como el personal de a bordo fueron evacuados en perfectas condiciones y no se registraron heridos. La empresa no ha emitido aún ningún comunicado oficial sobre el acontecimiento en cuestión.
