Nueva filial para el transporte regional europeo

Lufthansa Group ultima el inmediato lanzamiento de otra aerolínea en su grupo denominada City Airlines. Una startup regional que permitirá enlazar ciudades europeas que se complementará con los servicios de la otra aerolínea del mismo grupo CityLine. Lufthansa acaba de empezar a reclutar personal para las operaciones en tierra. No hay fecha para su presentación oficial porque el grupo aún necesita el acuerdo del sindicato de pilotos.

El CEO de Lufthansa Group, Carsten Spohr, ha expresado que el proyecto lleva madurando un año. el anuncio se estableció al presentar los resultados económicos que estaban trabajando en el proyecto. En Abril de 2022 se creó el grupo de trabajo, dando forma el 6 de Abril se registró la compañía con sede en Munich. Con el nuevo impulso económico de las aerolíneas en el mundo, Lufthansa estaría formalizando el inicio de operaciones en el primer semestre de 2023.

¿Para qué quiere Lufthansa otra aerolínea regional? Según indican algunos portales especializados en el mercado alemán: “Lufthansa ha perdido una cuota importante de mercado en los últimos años, porque el corto y medio radio es muy competitivo”. Esta línea aérea vendría a buscar recuperar este mercado regional. Otra razón absolutamente inusual explicada por el máximo ejecutivo es que “dará una salida a los 250 comandantes que estaban trabajando con Germanwings y que se ha disuelto y podrían quedar sin empleo”. Pero las estrategias de la aerolínea no parecen alentadoras, pues esos pilotos serían contratados con salarios inferiores a los actuales, incluso más bajos que los de Eurowings, si el sindicato lo permite, lo cual generará problemas a futuro.
