JetBlue suma nuevas rutas a República Dominicana
La compañía norteamericana JetBlue Airways anunció un nuevo servicio sin escalas entre el Aeropuerto Internacional Orlando/MCO y dos de los principales destinos del Caribe. La aerolínea volará desde Orlando a los aeropuertos dominicanos de Punta Cana y de Santiago programados para Noviembre 2023.
Una vez que comience el servicio, JetBlue se convertirá en la única aerolínea en servir a Santiago con un servicio sin escalas desde Orlando. Los nuevos vuelos que conectan Orlando con la República Dominicana ofrecerán a los clientes de Florida más opciones para viajes de placer y fomentan la importante presencia de la aerolínea en América Latina y el Caribe. “Punta Cana y Santiago son los principales destinos del Caribe, pero existen opciones limitadas para que los clientes lleguen allí desde Orlando hoy. Estas nuevas rutas, junto con las que habilitará nuestra combinación con Spirit, nos posicionarán para brindar aún más crecimiento y conectividad a destinos populares para los clientes en Florida Central”, dijo David Jehn, Vicepresidente de Planificación de Red y Asociaciones de JetBlue Airways.
Después de su combinación planificada con Spirit Airlines, la aerolínea espera llegar a doscientos vuelos diarios en Orlando para 2027. JetBlue ofrecería vuelos a aproximadamente veinte mercados que actualmente no atiende ninguna de las dos aerolíneas desde Orlando y aumentaría las frecuencias de vuelo en unas veinticinco rutas adicionales. La aerolínea estima que su plan agregaría aproximadamente 350 nuevos puestos de trabajo en los aeropuertos de sus operaciones en Orlando, al mismo tiempo que apoyaría una mayor actividad económica en toda la región que se anticipa que conducirá a un mayor crecimiento del empleo.

JetBlue adds new routes to the Dominican Republic
The North American company JetBlue Airways announced a new non-stop service between Orlando/MCO International Airport and two of the main destinations in the Caribbean. The airline will fly from Orlando to the Dominican airports of Punta Cana and Santiago scheduled for November 2023.
Once service begins, JetBlue will become the only airline to serve Santiago with nonstop service from Orlando. The new flights connecting Orlando with the Dominican Republic will offer Florida customers more options for leisure travel and further the airline’s significant presence in Latin America and the Caribbean. “Punta Cana and Santiago are the top destinations in the Caribbean, but there are limited options for customers to get there from Orlando today. These new routes, along with those that our combination with Spirit will enable, will position us to deliver even more growth and connectivity to popular destinations for customers in Central Florida”, said David Jehn, Vice-president of Network Planning and Partnerships for JetBlue Airways.
Following its planned combination with Spirit Airlines, the airline expects to reach 200 daily flights into Orlando by 2027. JetBlue would offer flights to approximately 20 markets not currently served by either airline from Orlando and increase flight frequencies on some 25 routes additional. The airline estimates its plan would add approximately 350 new airport jobs to its Orlando operations, while also supporting increased economic activity across the region that is anticipated to lead to further job growth.
