Swoop will fly to the US on 10/2018
Swoop Airlines will fly flights to the US in October 2018
Swoop Airlines will become the first ultra low cost airline in Canada that will fly to the United States to five popular tourist destinations in Florida, Nevada and Arizona.
The WestJet Airlines Ltd. subsidiary will begin on October 11, 2018 with flights from Abbotsford (British Columbia) and Edmonton to Las Vegas. Other destinations served by the airline are: Hamilton (Ontario) to Las Vegas, as well as to the cities of Florida, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa Bay. Flights between Edmonton and Phoenix will begin on October 27, 20108. Most destinations will receive service several times a week, but daily service will be between Edmonton and Las Vegas.
The expansion of international services for October 2018 begins approximately four months after Swoop began to fly. International services will begin when Swoop Airlines receives delivery of its fifth and sixth Boeing 737-800 aircraft, said Swoop President Steven Greenway. «They really fit well with the model we provide in terms of high-volume, low-cost leisure profile that we definitely aim for», he said in an interview.
Ultra-Lowcost model
The model of the airline is based on passengers paying additional fees for accessories such as bags, premium seats and Wi-Fi that inflate travel costs according to the individual needs of passengers. Swoop currently receives around US$36 per passenger, double the level at WestJet. However, it is expected that more of these non-tariff revenues will be generated as other services such as car rental, hotels, third-party travel insurance and enhanced offers of food and beverages are added.
The goal of WestJet is to use Swoop’s low fares to stimulate the demand of people who do not normally fly and help repatriate some of the five million Canadian travelers who cross the border to leave US airports.
While the low Canadian dollar makes US flights more expensive, the launch of the Swoop service should also help increase Canadian cross-border demand and Americans flying to western Canada. Prices are probably not low enough to convince Americans to fly out of Canada.
Swoop will operate in a combination of secondary airports such as Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and popular airports such as the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, where there are no alternatives.
Swoop faces domestic competition largely from Flair Airlines, Air Canada, Sunwing and Air Transat with large cross-border and Caribbean routes. A \ W

Boeing on the pendulum of NMA 797
Boeing seems in no hurry to start the production line of the new 797
The Boeing Company has slowed down plans for the 797 project for a new family of widebodies. Dennis Muilenburg, CEO of Boeing, took a look at the complex calculations involved in building a business case for what Boeing calls the New Mid-Market Aircraft (NMA) program.
The Chicago-based aircraft maker plans to make a decision next 2019 on whether to launch the program, with a possible commercial debut in 2025. «We’re seeing it from the point of view of the plane and the downline services», said Muilenburg during The company’s quarterly earnings call on Wednesday.
The reasons behind the delays are in Boeing’s initiatives to ensure the plane can earn more revenue over its 30-year commercial life, while reducing factory costs so that Boeing can make double jets corridor have a cost closer to that of highly standardized narrow bodies.
Boeing believes it can expand the sales appeal of the 797 and lifetime revenues by combining an entirely new aircraft with a design that encourages airlines to continue buying data analysis, maintenance and spare parts from the aircraft manufacturer.
Competent compilation
The Airbus A321NEO is already nibbling at the smaller end of the 220-270-seat market that Boeing is targeting for the 797, and the European manufacturer can increase the range of its single-aisle jet to make it even more competitive.
The Boeing design should also attract a wide range of potential airline customers. US airlines, such as Delta Air Lines, are seeking replacements for Boeing 757/767 aircraft that reach retirement age, while low-cost airlines that are rapidly emerging are expanding throughout Asia.
The commercial aviation industry is seeking, after the downgrade of the production line of the Boeing 757, a bold substitute able to bring more comparative advantages to the new challenges of the airlines in transatlantic flights and point to point in great distances.
The American company Boeing continues in a pendulum waiting to determine the exact time to paradoxically launch the plane with the highest demand in the world market, the real substitute for the Boeing 757. A \ W

Sky Airline, the Chilean lowcost had landed at the Rosario International Airport in October 2017 taking advantage of the bonanza of purchases of Argentines in Chile. The route of Sky Airline never got to be a great success, causing the reduction of the frequency of three to two weekly flights, from April 2018 without achieving good results.
Competitive market
Sky Airline was launched to the market to fight against the majors like Latam Airlines through its subsidiaries in Peru, Brazil and Chile, which are able to channel all traffic from Rosario Airport to other destinations through their respective hubs in Lima, San Pablo / Guarulhos and Santiago de Chile, so that relying mostly on point-to-point traffic to and from the Chilean capital was not enough to sustain the route. Sky Airlines maintains its weekly frequencies to Buenos Aires (14), Mendoza (7) and Córdoba (4).
The cancellation of the air route to Santiago has caused a setback for Rosario Airport, but above all to air transport users.
Although the winter period is the lowest in passenger traffic worldwide, the airline sky Airline has been suffering from a low competitiveness in air navigation. The market on the Santiago-Rosario route in July was given by Latam Airlines with 2,685 pax, Latam Brasil with 3,335, and third by Sky Airline with 1,063 pajeros. A \ W
