El constructor europeo Airbus SE analiza la continuidad del A380

Airbus estudia la decisión para cancelar la línea de producción del avión de pasajeros más grande del mundo el A380 apodado «Superjumbo». El destino ha estado en duda desde que una orden vital de Emirate Airlines fracasó en conversaciones no concluyentes sobre el motor, lo que obligó a Airbus y la aerolínea a considerar un plan alternativo que provocaría un cese prematuro de la producción del A380. En otra oportunidad el Programa A380 ha estado amenazado por el escaso interés de algunas aerolíneas en favor de otras aeronaves más versátiles.

Airbus espera negociar un acuerdo que permita a Emirates Airline cambiar parte de su orden a modelos más pequeños como el A350 o el A330, a la vez que recibe algunos pedidos de último momento en el A380 de British Airways.

El resultado de esas conversaciones podría determinar si Airbus cancelaría el programa debido a la presión para proporcionar cierta claridad sobre sus planes a tiempo para las ganancias del Jueves, 14 Febrero 2019, luego de la creciente especulación sobre el futuro del avión.
