Este Domingo 29/05, el Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) de México actualizó la situación sobre el sistema que se formó frente a las costas mexicanas de Oaxaca y que en las últimas horas se ha ido fortaleciendo cada vez más hasta finalmente convertirse en el primer huracán de la temporada en el océano Pacífico. “A las 07.00 horas (12.00 GMT), la tormenta tropical Ágatha se intensificó a Huracán Categoría 1 en la escala Saffir-Simpson al sur de las costas de Oaxaca. Se pronostica que gire hacia el noreste con trayectoria hacia el estado de Oaxaca“, indicó la institución mexicana.
Según las autoridades locales, la tarde de este Domingo, este primer huracán de la temporada se ubicaba a unos 320 kilómetros al oeste-suroeste de Puerto Ángel, Oaxaca, y ya registraba vientos máximos sostenidos de 120 kilómetros por hora, con rachas más intensas de 150 kilómetros por hora. Las autoridades han alertado a la población sobre el fenómeno meteorológico. La aviación comercial se mantiene alerta respecto a posibles cancelaciones y demoras de vuelos.
