Aerolíneas Argentinas ha aumentado un 4% la cantidad de pasajeros transportados en Abril 2018

Aerolíneas Argentinas anunció resultados operativos positivos del mes de Abril 2018 transportando 1.000.200 pasajeros, representando un 4% más en comparación al 2017 y un 26% más con 2016.

La mayor aerolínea de Argentina ha comenzado el 2018 con un fuerte aumento de pasajeros transportados logrando records en Enero traspasando su marca histórica con 1.241.766 pax y Semana Santa transportó 226.943 pasajeros, casi un 10% más que en 2017. La cifra de pasajeros transportados durante el mes de Abril marca el crecimiento sostenido que viene exhibiendo la aerolínea. El 1Q2018 arrojó la cifra de 4.460.000 pasajeros transportados, lo que significa un 6% más que en el mismo periodo de 2017.

La puntualidad alcanzó un 86,3%, logrando alcanzar los objetivos pactados. El promedio general que la empresa viene sosteniendo entre Enero-Abril 2018 alcanza el 88%, igualando los resultados del año anterior y con picos de hasta un 99% en días particulares. De esta manera la compañía Flightstats galardonó hace un mes atrás a Aerolíneas Argentinas como una de las compañías aéreas más puntuales del mundo y líder en la región.

“Estos números nos dan la pauta de que la gente nos sigue eligiendo. Y nos eligen porque somos puntuales y ofrecemos un buen servicio. Es un circulo virtuoso de mejora continua que podemos sostener en el tiempo porque tenemos un equipo de colaboradores comprometidos con la operación de los vuelos”, expresó Mario Dell’Acqua, Presidente del Grupo Aerolíneas.

La venta de tickets aéreos alcanzó en Abril unos 596.397, un 3.7% más que el año pasado. El 41.1 % fue a través de canales de venta directa. Los resultados acumulados del primer cuatrimestre superaron en un 2.7 % a los obtenidos el año pasado. Estos logros son consecuencia de la robusta política comercial de la compañía y del incremento de la oferta de asientos.

El último fin de semana largo del mes de Abril, Aerolíneas Argentinas/Austral han transportado unos 41.945 pasajeros en un solo día, Viernes 27, representando un factor de ocupación mayor al 85%. La suma de los 5 días desde el 27/04 al 01/05 arrojó la cifra de 168.445 pasajeros transportados con un promedio de puntualidad que alcanzó el 80% y picos superiores al 93%.

Aerolíneas Argentinas announced positive operating results for the month of April 2018, transporting 1,000,200 passengers, representing 4% more compared to 2017 and 26% more with 2016.

The sale of air tickets reached 596,397 in April, 3.7% more than last year. 41.1% went through direct sales channels. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA ha desistido de la oferta del Grupo IAG

El consejo de administración de Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA ha recibido dos ofertas de compra por parte del Grupo IAG, pero las ha rechazado al considerar que infravaloran a la compañía aérea noruega y sus perspectivas de futuro, ha informado este viernes la aerolínea. Las dos ofertas, dirigidas a la compra de la totalidad de la aerolínea noruega fueron revisadas por el consejo de administración junto con los asesores financieros y jurídicos de la compañía Norwegian Air y rechazadas por unanimidad. Según la aerolínea, el consejo de administración de Norwegian continúa plenamente comprometido con la ejecución de su estrategia establecida, rechazando la oferta del 100% de la adquisición de la aerolínea escandinava.

IAG había adquirido el pasado 12 Abril un paquete accionarial del 4,61% de la compañía noruega, una inversión minoritaria que pretendía establecer una posición desde la cual iniciar conversaciones con Norwegian, incluyendo la posibilidad de formular una oferta de adquisición sobre la totalidad de la aerolínea. Norwegian señaló entonces que no tenía conocimiento previo de la adquisición y consideraba el interés de IAG una confirmación de la sostenibilidad y el potencial de nuestro modelo de negocio y de nuestro crecimiento global.

IAG, cuyo principal accionista es ahora Qatar Airways con un 20% de la participación, fue fundado hace siete años, tras la fusión de British Airways e Iberia. Norwegian Air fue creada en 1993 y ha ido creciendo en los últimos años hasta convertirse en una de las principales aerolíneas de bajo coste en Europa, además de comenzar a realizar viajes transoceánicos. La aerolínea noruega perdió el año pasado 31 millones de euros por costes vinculados a su expansión, la subida del precio del combustible, alquiler de aeronaves y asistencia a pasajeros, frente a un beneficio récord de 117 millones de euros en 2016.

Santa Bárbara Airlines ha cesado sus operaciones en Venezuela

Santa Bárbara Airlines ha informado este jueves el cese de sus operaciones. La compañía no explicó los motivos de la decisión, aunque en Noviembre 2017 había suspendido temporalmente su red de servicios.

Parte del comunicado de SBA Airlines expresa: «Desde SBA Airlines informamos que se hizo oficial el cese de nuestras operaciones como prestadores de servicio de transporte aéreo, el pasado 26 de abril de 2018. Luego de 22 años de servir a nuestra querida Venezuela, hacemos retrospectiva del camino andado. Muchos fueron los aciertos, pero también los desaciertos. Por eso ofrecemos una vez más nuestras más sinceras disculpas por las fallas».

La aerolínea venezolana operaba con veintidós años de experiencia. SBA Airlines informó que se hizo oficial el cese de operaciones como prestadores de servicio de transporte aéreo operando con vuelos hacia países como Colombia, Ecuador, Estados Unidos, Panamá y Portugal.

La aerolínea continuará con los procesos administrativos para el cumplimiento de todos nuestros compromisos con proveedores, agencias de viajes y otros socios, para su liquidación.

Santa Bárbara Airlines ingresa a la lista de compañías aéreas que dejaron de operar en el país desde 2014, alegando que el Estado, que monopoliza desde 2003 el acceso a divisas con un control de cambios, les adeuda unos U$S 3.800 millones de dólares.

Las empresas estadounidenses United Airlines y Delta Air Lines y la colombiana Avianca suspendieron actividades en 2017; la alemana Luftansa y la estadounidense Dynamic Airways levantaron la ruta en 2016; y Air Canada, Aeroméxico, Alitalia, Lantam Airlines, Tiara y Gol entre 2014 y 2015, entre otras compañías. Mientras que American Airlines, TAP Portugal, Air France e Iberia, que han recortado frecuencias de vuelos y rutas, continúan volando.

Santa Bárbara Airlines has informed on Thursday the cessation of its operations. The company did not explain the reasons for the decision, although in November 2017 it had temporarily suspended its service network.

Part of the SBA Airlines statement states: «From SBA Airlines we informed that the cessation of our operations as service providers of air transport was made official on April 26, 2018. The Venezuelan airline operated with twenty-two years of experience. SBA Airlines reported that the cessation of operations became official as providers of air transport service operating with flights to countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Panama and Portugal.

The airline will continue with the administrative processes for the fulfillment of all our commitments with suppliers, travel agencies and other partners, for its liquidation.

Qatar Airways, a favor de una OPA de IAG sobre Norwegian

Qatar Airways da luz verde a una OPA de IAG Group sobre Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA. El consejero delegado de Qatar Airways, aerolínea que cuenta con el 20% de IAG, dijo que respaldará la posible compra de Norwegian.

La aerolínea Qatar Airways, accionista mayoritario de IAG con el 20% del capital, se ha mostrado a favor de una OPA (Oferta Pública de Adquisición) sobre Norwegian por parte del ‘holding’ aéreo, según ha expresado su consejero delegado, Akbar al-Baker. «Lo que hagan para expandir su negocio es algo que está bien pensado y les apoyaremos (…) Qatar Airways siempre apoyará a IAG en todo lo que haga porque es un negocio en el que tenemos un interés estratégico», ha subrayado el directivo este miércoles en una rueda de prensa en Cardiff, Reino Unido, con motivo de la nueva ruta directa de la compañía que une Gales con Qatar. No obstante, ha asegurado que no tienen interés en adquirir ninguna participación en Norwegian, sino que le dejan eso, por completo, a IAG.

El primer ejecutivo de Qatar Airways también subrayó que el plan de la compañía aérea es continuar expandiéndose en Reino Unido. Actualmente opera conexiones con cuatro destinos británicos, aunque comenzará a volar a Londres y, en más adelante, pretende abrir una ruta directa entre Doha y Belfast. A mediados de abril, IAG, el ‘holding’ que agrupa a Iberia, British Airways, Vueling, Aer Lingus y Level adquirió una participación del 4,6% del capital de Norwegian, una inversión que calificó de «atractiva» aunque «minoritaria», pero con la que abrió la puerta a la posibilidad de lanzar una opa por el 100% de la aerolínea. «Esta inversión minoritaria está destinada a establecer una posición desde la cual iniciar conversaciones con Norwegian, incluyendo la posibilidad de formular una oferta de adquisición sobre la totalidad de la aerolínea noruega», reconoció la compañía.

Cambio de actitud en Norwegian

En un principio el consejero delegado de Norwegian, Bjorn Kjos, había rechazado que pudiera vender su participación del 26,8% para abrir el camino a IAG, pero en el curso de los días fue cambiando su posición y la semana pasada dijo “si el precio es bueno, todo está en venta”.

Norwegian había comunicado que había creado un comité de orientación y había contratado a asesores legales y financieros para revisar la situación, así como para gestionar, consultar y salvaguardar los intereses de todos los accionistas. A mediados de Abril 2018, IAG Group, que agrupa a Iberia, British Airways, Vueling y Aer Lingus) adquirió una participación del 4,6% del capital de Norwegian, una inversión que abre la puerta al lanzamiento de una OPA por el 100% de la aerolínea escandinava.

IAG busca fondos

IAG no se queda de brazos cruzados, y encargó a JP Morgan que busque financiación por 4.000 millones de euros para concretar la absorción. De ese monto, € 1.500 millones de euros serían para pagar la opa, y otros € 2.320 millones para refinanciar la deuda de la aerolínea low cost.

Qatar Airways gives green light to an IAG Group bid on Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA. The CEO of Qatar Airways, an airline that has 20% of IAG, said it will support the possible purchase of Norwegian.

The Qatar Airways airline, IAG’s majority shareholder with 20% of the capital, has been in favor of an OPA (Takeover Offer) on Norwegian by the airline ‘holding company’, according to its CEO, Akbar al- Baker. «What they do to expand their business is something that is well thought out and we will support them (…) Qatar Airways will always support IAG in everything it does because it is a business in which we have a strategic interest», the executive stressed. Change of attitude in Norwegian

Originally Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos had refused to sell his 26.8% stake to open the way to IAG, but over the course of the days he changed his position and last week he said «if the price is good, everything is for sale».

Norwegian had reported that it had created an orientation committee and hired legal and financial advisors to review the situation, as well as to manage, consult and safeguard the interests of all shareholders. In mid-April 2018, IAG Group, which brings together Iberia, British Airways, Vueling and Aer Lingus) acquired a 4.6% share of Norwegian capital, an investment that opens the door to the launch of a 100% takeover bid of the Scandinavian airline.
