AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

The first A330-300P2F enters service with DHL. Express operations benefit from efficient new generation medium freighter

DHL Express became the first operator to receive the converted A330-300 aircraft from Passenger to Freighter (P2F) of Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), the joint venture between ST Aerospace and Airbus. This delivery, which took place at the EFW freight conversion facility in Dresden, follows the successful completion of the test flights in October and the granting of the Supplementary Type Certificate (STC) by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). ) in November. DHL Express has firm orders for eight A330-300P2F units in total, with additional options to receive another 10.

«DHL Express is very excited to bring the first A330-300 P2F to commercial operation within our international air network», said Geoff Kehr, Senior Vice President, Global Air Fleet Management, DHL Express. «The first aircraft is scheduled to strengthen our Asia Pacific air network, providing greater capacity and greater efficiency to a market in which we see dynamic express volume growth».

«We congratulate DHL on the delivery of its first A330-300P2F, and we are confident that this new generation next-generation freighter will bring significant benefits to DHL’s international express operations,» said Christopher Buckley, Airbus EVP Sales. «With its large internal volume and unbeatable economy, the A330-300P2F allows operators to increase capacity in markets where existing medium-sized cargo ships are becoming too small».

The A330P2F conversion program, launched in 2012, is a collaboration between ST Aerospace, Airbus and its joint venture EFW. ST Aerospace, as the program and technical leader for the engineering development phase, is responsible for requesting EASA STCs and the US Federal Aviation Administration EE.UU. (FAA). Airbus contributes to the program with OEM data and certification support, while EFW leads the industrialization and commercialization phase for the cargo conversion program.

The A330P2F program has two variants: the A330-200P2F and the larger A330-300P2F. The latter is ideal to serve the international urgent cargo markets B2B and e-commerce, which generally have a higher volume and lower density. The aircraft can carry up to 62 metric tons in more than 3,650 nautical miles, while offering 20 percent more cargo volume and lower cost per ton than other types of cargo aircraft available with a similar scope. A \ W

Joon Airlines inicia ops

AW | 2017 12 01 12:21 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

This Friday, December 2 takes off the first flight of Joon Airlines, the new subsidiary of Air France born with the task of recovering the ground lost by the Franco-Dutch group at the hands of its European low-cost rivals and Gulf airlines Persian

Joon Airlines will be a different model in the market, although it will compete in a very competitive segment of the market. The airline is aimed at young people, a promising deserved for a class that is looking for cheap rates.

AIRBUS A320-200 BY JOON AIRLINES FOR OPERATIONS IN EUROPE AND MIDDLE EAST
The flight schedule, from this Friday, will cover the cities of Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon and Oporto, to which Istanbul, Naples, Rome and Oslo will be added in a few months. All are destinations that fly low-cost companies well established in France, as is the case of Easyjet.

Previously Air France had created Hop, another company that pretended to be low-cost, like the Dutch Transavia with a low-cost model, is also part of the same group of companies. From France, it is criticized by Air France for not being able to identify market strategies because it does not have the right plan for the group.

Joon Airlines will also operate international flights beginning in March 2018, when the French airline begins flying long-haul destinations such as Fortaleza (Brazil), the Seychelles Islands, Cairo (Egypt), Cape Town (South Africa) and Tehran (Iran).

The base of the company will be in Charles de Gaulle, so it will be able to help feed flights of the group that operates mainly from this airport. Short-haul flights will operate with Airbus A320 aircraft while it is expected that for the long haul use Airbus A330.

Joon has hired 120 crew members who reportedly charge 40 percent less than their Air France colleagues. Joon has limited its growth to 28 aircraft, as agreed with the unions.

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

American is basing its first Boeing 737-8 in its Miami hub. The planning for the MAX fleet will complement the routes served by Airbus A319s and Boeing 757-200s. While the Boeing 737-8 can displace A319s and 757s in Miami, the carrier will also use 737-8s to replace other aircraft, including the A320 and Boeing MD-80, as part of a wider fleet renewal. American plans to retire its 48 A320s in the early 2020s and 46 MDs-80s by the end of 2019. It plans to have 26 MD-80s by the end of next year.

The airline has previously replaced the A320 and MD-80 with A321s and 737-800, however, the deliveries of both classic models are coming to an end. American took delivery of its latest A321 in early 2017 and will take its final 737-800 by the end of the year, as shown by its latest fleet plan.

The era «MAX»

American plans to operate four 737-8s at the end of this year, 20 at the end of 2018 and 40 in 2019, according to the fleet plan. The airline’s first nine maximum deliveries are financed with proceeds from its Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificate (EETC) transaction of $ 797 billion in 2017-2 in July and an additional note of $ 221 million in 2017-2 B in September.

American has firm orders for 98 Boeing 737-8, in addition to the two that are already in its fleet, shows Flight Fleets Analyzer. It also has firm orders for 100 A321neos with deliveries from 2019. It plans to use the 737-8 to both open new markets and improve our performance in certain markets.

To date, American has scheduled the Boeiong 737-8 MAX to fly to Anchorage, New York, LaGuardia, Orlando and Port of Spain from Dallas / Fort Worth and Miami until June 2018.

In the time frame between the first delivery and the first scheduled flight, a second MAX N304RB, MSN 6675 was delivered to the airline, and two more are expected to join the fleet before the end of the year.

As the airline accelerates the retirement of its MD-80 fleet and its old Airbus A320 fleet, the new 737-8 MAX will allow them to replace them with a much more efficient aircraft with a very similar capacity as part of the renewal of their fleet. A \ W

Unión Europea prohíbe volar a Avior

AW | 2017 11 30 16:12 | AIRLINES / AVIATION SAFETY

European Union prohibits flying Avior

The European Union has banned Avior Airlines from flying through European space due to deficiencies in aviation security

Revealing the changes on November 30, the European Commission has reported that Avior Airlines has been blacklisted due to «security deficiencies not addressed», identified during an operator audit of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

EASA has refused to issue or has revoked an authorization under Part-TCO¹ to the airlines on this list due to non-compliance with the applicable requirements after the technical evaluation in accordance with PartTCO.

In the list of airlines not allowed in European airspace are: Mustique Airways (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines), Air Urga, Black Sea Airlines (Ukraine), Transaviaexport Airlines (Belarus), Iraq Aseman Airlines, Iraqi Airways (Iraq), Med-Wiew Airlines (Nigeria), AHS Air International PVT Ltd. (Pakistan) and Air Zimbabwe Ltd. (Zimbabwe) were eliminated after the security improvements. But there are also other airlines with other partial restrictions.

The EU Air Safety Committee (ASC), made up of security experts from the EU Member States, met from 13 to 15 November 2017. After the update of 30 November, a total of 178 airlines 16 states are banned in the EU airspace. This total includes 172 airlines that are blacklisted because the European Commission is not satisfied with the safety oversight level of the local aeronautical authority, rather than specific problems with the carriers themselves.

«Our goal is to offer the highest level of security in the European skies, and the EU Aviation Safety List remains one of our most effective tools to achieve this, and today we show that with our help, airlines can be quickly eliminated from the EU. When they tackle their safety issues, the work is worthwhile and I hope that the example of Mustique Airways and Air Urga will inspire others», said EU transport commissioner Violeta Bulc. A \ W

Proyecto Aeropuerto Santa Fe-Paraná

maxresdefault.jpg

AW | 2017 11 30 12:35 | AIRPORTS

Imagen relacionadaThe project of a new airport for the cities of Santa Fe and Paraná begins to be planned

The project with the support of the government of Argentina, aims to improve connectivity between the two provincial capitals of Paraná and Santa Fe. The construction of an international airport in an area equidistant between the two capitals, close to the current route of route 168 and the one Resultado de imagen para Entre Ríos turismo pngplanned for the bridge, between the Colastiné and Paraná rivers, will be tendered in 2018.

«It is a historic day, because this initiative of President Mauricio Macri to have a single airport for both cities and international character begins its course of action, according to what was resolved, and as stated by national authorities, from here to March the feasibility studies for its realization will be made next year, and from there there is a schedule on the executive project», Sergio Varisco, the mayor of the city of Paraná, said at the end of the meeting held with his peer, Intendant of the city of Santa Fe, José Corral, and national officials of the Regulatory Agency of the National Airport System (ORSNA).

Santa Fe-Paraná Airport Project

The call for feasibility studies will be through international consultancies, as indicated. Per year, some 120,000 people of the region are transported by air, in an area of influence of 2 million inhabitants within a radius of 100 kilometers.

The future location of the new Santa Fe-Paraná International Airport would be located by passing the bridge over the Colastiné River of National Route No. 168, in the east-west direction, in an area of islands between the Colastiné and Paraná rivers, in the territory of the Province of Santa Fe.

AW-700837713.png

«That feasibility study can then generate a debate, and we are going to propitiate it, because there may be voices for and against, with different arguments, but beyond the debate, the cornerstone is the technical feasibility study, environmental and financial between Paraná and Santa Fe. There is an enthusiasm of the Nation on the matter, even because the idea is that this is complemented by the Paraná-Santa Fe bridge that the national authorities called for private public participation», said the chief paranaense community.

National government proposal

The initiative that emerged from the National Executive Power originated in cost arguments, arguing that two airports generate double expense for companies, to install themselves. «If we talk about two international airports it is impossible from the point of view of their financial ability to sustain them from Paraná and from Santa Fe. I have heard voices that say that the Paraná would have to be re-functionalized, but ultimately the feasibility study that is going to commissioning the most important consultancies in the world in this area is what will give us a vision of whether it is possible or not, whether it is convenient or not.The important thing is that with the maximum authorities in the matter of airports, it went We will see the cost of construction, that an airport with these characteristics will not fall below 200 million dollars», remarked Sergio Varisco. This new airport also adds to the so-called «Air Revolution» that drives the current management at the national level: «There is an explosion of air transport in Argentina that even affects the land transport of medium and long distance companies, because the costs of flights have become a lot cheaper and even if the operating costs of both Sauce Viejo and Paraná airports are lowered, the cost of the ticket will be lowered», said the Mayor of the city of Paraná.

Meanwhile, the mayor of the capital Santa Fe alluded to environmental issues and other related to the airport operation: «The road issues would be resolved because not only is the 168, but the new connection Paraná-Santa Fe, with the tunnel and the bridge». In this context, he did not rule out opening the debate to the community «to hear opinions», coinciding with Sergio Varisco.

«Cities and regions do not grow if they do not have ambition and projects towards the future, and this is a project that excites us a lot because the country is already growing airport activity, it will grow much more and the costs of Air tickets, therefore, we have to prepare ourselves to have more activity Santa Fe and Paraná have common work experience, as in the case of the Tunnel, which has been running for 45 years, so why not think about an airport that would be closer to both cities than the current airport, and the use of the infrastructure we have today at the current airports for other perfectly possible uses», remarked the Mayor of Santa Fe. A \ W

Works complementary

The Paraná-Santa Fe bridge, a vital work for the integration of the metropolitan area, will be tendered in September 2018, according to the schedule of calls for companies through the Private Participation Program (PPP), proposed by the National Road Administration.

The work could require about four years of work. The head of Paraná will be close to Toma Vieja. At the exit, on Santa Fe territory will join the current national route 168, past the exit of the subfluvial tunnel, and after crossing the bridge over the Colastiné River will be built a new four-lane road that will reach the south of Santa Fe to facilitate the connection with National Route 19 and the New Port. Along with the work of the bridge, Paraná will benefit from the concretion of a new circumvallation ring, which will start from Sauce Montrull, will extend south of San Benito and Oro Verde, until joining route 11, passing the headquarters of the INTA.
