Boeing without approvals view MAX 10
Does not expect MAX 10 approval before summer 2023
The Boeing Company has communicated that it does not expect to receive approval for the Boeing 737-10 MAX before next summer, it reported citing a letter from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sent on Monday 03/10. The forecast magnifies concerns about the planemaker’s schedule for pending deliveries.
The company has a December 2022 deadline for regulatory approval for the MAX 10, which is the longest variant of the 737 MAX family now in service, and the shortest version, the MAX 7. Without an extension from Congress, Boeing would have to refurbish the planes to meet new cockpit alert requirements, possibly delaying deliveries.
«With respect to the 737-10, Boeing’s current project plan schedule has the 737-10 receiving an amended type certificate no sooner than the summer of 2023», Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolen said in the statement. letter to Senator Roger Wicker, the top Republican on the Senate Commerce Committee.
The report comes as airlines face a shortage of new planes from Boeing and arch-rival Airbus Group, as travel rebounds from the pandemic. Boeing is down 39% this year to 2022, compared to a 23% decline for the S&P 500 Stock Index (SP500).
Boeing last week received an order for up to 64 of its 737 MAX planes from Canadian airline WestJet. The order came a day after the company said Taiwan’s China Airlines had ordered up to 24 787 Dreamliners (24).

Argentina airport investments
Transportation announced investments for AR$ 56,700 million
The head of the portfolio of the Ministry of Transportation of Argentina, Alexis Guerrera, has announced that the amount of investment in works for the current year 2022 is approximately AR$ 16,700 million pesos. The minister reported this Monday that the Government plans to invest in airport infrastructure through the Federal Development Plan, while by 2023 the amount of investment will exceed AR$ 40,000 million pesos, to which is also added direct investment by the concessionaire Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 (AA2000) of approximately AR$ 28,700 million pesos.
The announcements in the framework of the inauguration of the 2022 Annual Assembly and Conference of the Airports Council International of Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC), which began on Monday 10/03 in Buenos Aires with the participation of the main authorities, executives and aviation experts from different countries and which ends on Tuesday 10/04. The official highlighted the very important role that the airport system has, and pointed out that «back in mid-2019, the socioeconomic difficulties of Argentina, the effects of bad political and economic decisions had interrupted the chain of payments for public works. At the same time, due to the macroeconomic situation at that time, it was difficult for companies to access credit and financing. This generated a unique crisis in which all the works in the airport sector were losing momentum until they stopped. The most obvious example, the most symbolic and perhaps most painful, not only for us as a State but also for Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, is the new departure terminal at the Ezeiza international airport, a project that was stopped in September 2019. However, despite the difficulties, and of the times that we have had to live, we made the decision to resume that work and many others in a context of strong recovery of the domestic market. Of course, this recovery is key to guaranteeing the country’s connectivity with the regions and with the world. Perhaps the only positive thing in the aviation and airport system that the pandemic left us was having been able to work at the Jorge Newbery Airport, where we carried out the biggest milestone in the airport sector in the last 50 years», said the Minister of Transportation. Alexis Guerrero.
In addition, he highlighted that there are works underway at the Posadas, Santa Rosa, San Juan, San Rafael and Jujuy airports. «During the period that covers the remainder of the current year and all of 2023, major works will be carried out in fifteen passenger terminals, on nine runways, ten taxiways, thirteen platforms, also executing a number of sixteen new beacons», Transportation pointed out.

Blue Air airline bankruptcy
Blue Air stops flying permanently
The Romanian low cost airline Blue Air has announced the closure of its company after dragging debts amounting to €230 million Euros, while the value of the company is listed on the Stock Exchange at just €30 million. Blue Air, the Romanian airline that had come to have a dense network of routes in Europe and a fleet of 55 aircraft, closes permanently after being harassed by the economic crisis that the airline was undergoing. On 09/06 it had suspended its operations, while it announced its reestablishment of operations by October 10, 2022.
Blue Air had been paralyzed by the Romanian Environment Ministry for non-compliance with payments to the Government linked to its CO2 emission rights. According to some Romanian media, Blue Air had sold 16,000 plane tickets to fly between October 10 and the end of the same month of next year, for just under four million Euros. The property said yesterday that «Blue Air is now in talks with potential investors, lenders and the Romanian government to restructure its capital and return to operations».
Blue Air carries debts worth €230 million Euros while on the stock market the value is listed at just €30 million, according to Oana Petrescu, who was the company’s General Director in the past. Fundamentally, as a consequence of the effect of the stoppage of activities due to the global health crisis, their economic-financial problems had increased. The company is one of the most important post-pandemic falls. However, various market agents consider that this is only the beginning of a winter that will deepen a generalized crisis also driven by the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine.
Falimentul companiei aeriene Blue Air

Jordanian will incorporate A320NEO/787
Royal Jordanian orders Airbus A320NEOs and more Dreamliners
Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) has announced a purchase order for twenty new Airbus A320NEO aircraft (20). The new aircraft will replace the airline’s thirteen A320-200CEOs (13) already in service. The airline has also stated that it is discussing the acquisition of four additional Boeing 787 long-haul aircraft (4), with plans to increase its 787 fleet from seven to eleven in the coming years. The announcement of Royal Jordanian’s new aircraft purchases also included an update on the 787 negotiations.
The airline operates many short to medium haul routes across the Middle East, Africa and Europe, primarily using its A320s for these routes. As it has been looking to expand, the airline was deciding to upgrade its fleet with aircraft from the A320NEO line or replace it with fourth-generation Boeing 737 MAXs. The Jordanian airline has opted for a homogeneous upgrade towards an A320 family fleet, which would reduce the operating costs of the A320CEO-A320NEO transition. The new A320NEOs will help increase your profit margins, allowing you more room for network expansion.
Royal Jordanian CEO Salem Malaji shared why the company chose to purchase the A320NEO: «The A320NEO family of aircraft is the best choice for Royal Jordanian’s fleet replacement and growth in the coming years for its core short-haul operations. and medium range».
Later in the statement, the airline shared that it is in negotiations with Boeing to obtain four additional 787 aircraft. It currently owns seven fuel-efficient widebodies, which it uses for its longer routes. The Jordanian airline has been impressed with the aircraft’s performance and sees it as a valuable asset in expanding its long-haul networks. Salem Malaji said, regarding the 787, «Negotiations with Boeing are also ongoing, for RJ to increase its wide-body 787 fleet in the same time frame, followed by replacement of its current fleet».
Unfortunately for Royal Jordanian, the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the 787 upgrade considerably. Only recently has Boeing begun delivering more 787s since the pandemic began. However, the airline appears to be patient and does not expect to acquire these aircraft for several years.
Royal Jordanian outlook
With the addition of more 787 Dreamliners, the airline plans to open more routes in each region it serves. It will hire almost 50% more flight and cabin crew to operate these planes. Its expansion plans are mainly concentrated in the Levant region, which includes Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Syria. Many of the new A320NEOs will be used to fly the long routes in the region, while the airline will use regional aircraft for the shorter routes. The airline plans to open more routes to neighboring continents and even a transoceanic flight to Washington DC, in the United States.
A year ago, the airline announced a plan to expand its fleet and services over the next five years. The airline plans to increase its fleet from twenty-four aircraft to forty by 2026. In addition to the Airbus and Boeing aircraft it intends to acquire, the airline has also been looking to expand its fleet of regional aircraft. As these discussions are ongoing, it has not yet decided which aircraft will be chosen to fill this role.
