Amberes, Bélgica · Poco a poco se vuelve más claro acerca de los planes de SHS Antwerp Aviation NV, matriz belga de VLM Airlines para revivirla. El plan es que este año se inicia con las operaciones de vuelo con  Fokker 50. En 2017 y 2018, la línea aérea también quiere volar con el Fokker 70, Airbus A320 y A330 de fuselaje ancho.

En el sitio web recientemente reactivado de VLM Airlines que dice que SHS Antwerp Aviation NV estaba buscando capitanes y primeros oficiales para el Fokker 50 y 70 y el Airbus A320 y A330. Los Fokker 50 y 70 son para vuelos domésticos desde Amberes.

De qué aeropuertos volarán el Airbus aún no se conoce. Con el A330 incluiría los vuelos a China. En cualquier caso, SHS Antwerp Aviation NV parece haber optado por conservar el nombre de marca VLM Airlines.

Quiebra
VLM Airlines cesó sus operaciones en junio debido a la quiebra. La flota de Fokker 50 de la empresa se mantuvo al respecto en tierra. En septiembre se anunció que SHS Antwerp Aviation NV, una subsidiaria de la SHS Aviation BV con sede en Hoofddorp, se hace cargo de la línea aérea insolvente.

Antes de la operación se puede reanudar VLM Airlines que todavía tiene que obtener un AOC. Cuánto tiempo aún no se sabe que el proceso tomará, un portavoz principial dio a conocer esta semana a los medios belgas.

VLM Airlines ha sido muy activa en las redes sociales como Facebook. Por lo tanto seguidores se les preguntó qué destinos la compañía tendría que volar y que la tripulación de cabina deben o no deben usar un sombrero.

Antwerpen, Belgium · Langzaam wordt meer duidelijk over de plannen van SHS Antwerp Aviation NV, dat het Belgische VLM Airlines nieuw leven wil inblazen. Het plan is dat nog dit jaar de vliegoperaties met Fokker 50’s worden gestart. In 2017 en 2018 wil de maatschappij ook gaan vliegen met de Fokker 70, Airbus A320 en zelfs de widebody A330.

Op de recent gereactiveerde website van VLM Airlines zegt SHS Antwerp Aviation op zoek te zijn naar captains en first officers voor de Fokker 50 en 70 en de Airbus A320 en A330. De Fokker 50’s en 70’s zijn bedoeld voor vluchten vanaf thuisbasis Antwerpen.

Vanaf welke luchthavens de Airbussen gaan vliegen is nog niet bekend. Met de A330’s zou de maatschappij onder meer vluchten van en naar China willen gaan uitvoeren. In ieder geval lijkt SHS Antwerp Aviation ervoor gekozen te hebben om de merknaam VLM Airlines te behouden.

Faillissement
VLM Airlines staakte de vluchtuitvoering in juni vanwege een faillissement. De Fokker 50-vloot van de maatschappij bleef daarop aan de grond. In september werd bekend dat SHS Antwerp Aviation N.V., een dochteronderneming van het in Hoofddorp gevestigde SHS Aviation B.V., de failliete luchtvaartmaatschappij overneemt.

Voordat de vluchtuitvoering kan worden hervat moet VLM Airlines nog een AOC verkrijgen. Hoe lang dat proces gaat duren is nog niet bekend, liet een woordvoerder eerder deze week weten in Belgische media.

VLM Airlines is inmiddels zeer actief op social media, zoals Facebook. Zo wordt volgers gevraagd welke bestemmingen de maatschappij zou moeten aanvliegen en of de cabin crew wel of niet een hoedje moet gaan dragen. A\W
