«El número de argentinos que viajan a Australia y Nueva Zelanda crece en dos dígitos desde hace 10 años. Entre julio de 2015 y julio pasado, Nueva Zelanda recibió 12.240 argentinos, un 200% más frente a igual período anterior, gracias al vuelo directo» precisó a Télam Bjoern Spreitzer, gerente general de Turismo Nueva Zelanda para América y Europa.
En el aniversario del primer vuelo entre Auckland y Buenos Aires, Air New Zealand dispuso sumar frecuencias y proyecta mayor crecimiento para el año 2017, de acuerdo a las precisiones que brindaron a Télam Alex Obaditch, CEO de Air New Zealand; Nick Judd, gerente general para América, y Bjoern Spreitzer, gerente general para América y Europa de Turismo Nueva Zelanda.
«Nueva Zelanda tiene mucho para ofrecer a los argentinos. Somos un país pequeño pero con grandes atractivos y un clima ideal. Pretendemos que sea una opción para vacacionar, teniendo en cuenta que está a solamente 13 horas de vuelo desde Buenos Aires», señala Spreitzer.
Obaditch agregó que Argentina también es atractiva para los neozelandeses porque «tenemos muchas cosas en común: el rugby, el vino, la agricultura, la naturaleza. La Argentina es interesante para los neozelandeses. Es un destino inusual, Sudamérica les resulta más que una aventura. Pero Buenos Aires es una ciudad interesante para que empiecen a explorar», añadió el ejecutivo.
Respecto a sus expectativas para el 2017 Nick Judd expresó que «proyectamos conectar Sudamérica con Asia, que crece mucho. Por el momento, somos la opción más rápida para argentinos que quieren ir a Australia, porque tienen sólo dos horas de espera en Auckland para la conexión, sobre todo para quienes van a Sidney».
«Pero aún para Asia hay varias horas por lo que planeamos sumar vuelos a Asia para conectar Sudamérica con esos mercados con menor tiempo de conexión, para ser la opción más directa y rápida y que los sudamericanos nos elijan para volar a Oriente por encima de hacerlo vía Europa, Estados Unidos o Medio Oriente».
«Para ello -concluyó- hemos iniciado una oferta de pasajes a precios que no tienen competencia para llegar desde Buenos Aires a Hong Kong, Beijing, Shangai, Tokyo o Taipei, con la posibilidad además de poder quedarse unos días en Auckland para conocer nuestro país, sin pagar sobrecargo por ello».
«Air New Zealand vino a la Argentina para quedarse. Nuestro proyecto es a muy largo plazo, por lo que iremos creciendo a medida que los resultados nos los vayan permitiendo y si nos atenemos a lo que ha sucedido hasta ahora, el futuro es sumamente promisorio», finalizó Judd.
