Aerolíneas Argentinas retirará del servicio sus aviones B737-700 y A340

En una reciente entrevista en Buenos Aires, la presidenta de Aerolíneas Argentinas Isela Constantini, informó que la flota de aviones Boeing 737-700 y Airbus A340-200/300 que poseen, serán retirados paulatinamente del servicio comercial.

Será en el 2018 cuando comience la retirada y reestructuración de la flota; en total quince B737-700 habrán desaparecido para el año 2018, mientas que los A340 dejarán de operar a finales de ese mismo año.

La reestructuración de la flota obedece a un pedido de aeronaves realizado en el 2013, que contempla la adquisición de once aviones B737-800 que remplazarán a la versión 700. Así como ocho Boeing 737 MAX que también esperan unirse a la flota de Aerolíneas.

Durante la entrevista, Constantini no especificó cuál será la estrategia de reestructuración tras la retirada del A340-300, pero comentó que se encuentra en planes para evaluar una nueva orden con el fabricante europeo Airbus. Actualmente Aerolíneas Argentinas opera diez A330-200 arrendados a AerCap y Aircastle.

In a recent interview in Buenos Aires, the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas Isela Constantini, informed that the fleet of Boeing 737-700 and Airbus A340-200/300 aircraft that they own will be phased out of the commercial service.

It will be in 2018 when the withdrawal and restructuring of the fleet begins; In total fifteen B737-700 will have disappeared by the year 2018, while the A340 will stop operating at the end of that year.

The restructuring of the fleet is due to an order for aircraft made in 2013, which includes the acquisition of eleven B737-800 aircraft that will replace the 700 version. As well as eight Boeing 737 MAX that also hope to join the fleet of Airlines.

During the interview, Constantini did not specify what the restructuring strategy would be after the A340-300’s withdrawal, but said it is in plans to evaluate a new order with European manufacturer Airbus.
