Embraer inicia montaje del primer ala E195-E2

Embraer planea comenzar el montaje del primer ala para el avión E195-E2 en los próximos días, ya que la compañía brasileña continúa apuntando a la instalación del nuevo perfil aerodinámico en el primero de los dos aviones del programa de prueba de vuelo para fines de año . Los horarios requieren el primer vuelo del cuerpo estrecho de 144 asientos en el segundo semestre de 2017, a tiempo para entrar en servicio en 2019.

Montado en la fábrica principal de Embraer en São José dos Campos, Brasil, el ala incluye palos de ala y pieles fabricados en la planta de Evora en Portugal. Es el más grande de los tres diferentes diseños de ala concebidos para los tres modelos E2. En febrero de este año, Embraer decidió agregar 1.4 metros (4.6 pies) de envergadura, aumentando así la relación de aspecto, mejorando la relación de elevación a arrastre y aumentando el peso máximo de despegue en 4.400 libras. El plan original incluía dos modelos de ala-uno para el E175-E2 y el otro para el E190 / 195-E2- utilizando una nueva tecnología automatizada en la misma estación robótica.

Los cambios se extienden por 450 millas náuticas a comienzos del nivel del mar y hasta 290 millas náuticas en condiciones calurosas y altas. Por ejemplo, el nuevo ala añadiría 250 millas náuticas al anterior rango de 1.700 millas náuticas desde Denver. La compañía ahora lista la gama 195-E2 en 2.450 millas náuticas. 

Embraer Ready To Assemble First E195-E2 Wing

Embraer plans to start assembly of the first wing for the E195-E2 airliner in the next few days as the Brazilian company continues to target installation of the newly designed airfoil on the first of the flight-test program’s two airplanes by the end of the year. Schedules call for first flight of the 144-seat narrowbody in the second half of 2017, in time for entry into service in 2019.

Assembled at Embraer’s main factory in São Jose dos Campos, Brazil, the wing includes wing spars and skins manufactured at the company’s Evora plant in Portugal. It is the largest of the three different wing designs conceived for the three E2 models. This past February Embraer decided to add 1.4 meters (4.6 feet) of wingspan, thereby increasing aspect ratio, improving lift-to-drag ratio and increasing maximum takeoff weight by 4,400 pounds. The original plan had involved two models of wing—one for the E175-E2 and the other for the E190/195-E2—using new automated technology on the same robotic station.

The changes extend range by 450 nautical miles at sea-level starts and as much as 290 nautical miles in hot and high conditions. For example, the new wing would add 250 nautical miles to the previous 1,700 nautical mile range from Denver. The company now lists the 195-E2’s range at 2,450 nautical miles A\W
