Boeing se reorganiza. La compañía aeroespacial estadounidense crea esencialmente un tercer pilar en su estructura corporativa, dedicado a los servicios globales y que pone al nivel de las divisiones de aviación comercial y de defensa y espacial. La multinacional aprovecha el cambio para colocar a Kevin McAllister como nuevo responsable de la unidad que fabrica los aviones de pasajeros B737, B747, B777 y B787.

La creación de esta nueva unidad se lleva preparando desde hace tiempo para así poder diversificar su negocio más allá de ensamblar aviones, cazas militares o cohetes. Los servicios y componentes generan, en principio, ingresos más estables porque no están sujetos a los altos y bajos en la producción. Además, como explica su consejero delegado, Dennis Muilenburg, es cada vez más lucrativo.
