A través de un comunicado el fabricante estadounidense Boeing, informó que Fiji Airways anunció el compromiso de compra por cinco aviones 737-800 MAX que ayudarán en el plan de reestructuración y actualización de la flota de corto y mediano radio.

La reestructuración obliga a sustituir la actual flota de Boeing 737-700/800, equipos que alquilarán a GECAS, para una venta posterior a 12 años y dentro de un acuerdo de financiación de Leaseback.

«Boeing está honrado de que Fiji Airways haya seleccionado el 737 MAX para su plan de renovación de la flota, y le damos la bienvenida a Fiji Airways como nuestro nuevo cliente del modelo 737 MAX”, así lo dijo en un discurso Dinesh Keskar, vicepresidente senior de Ventas para Asia y el Pacífico y la India Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Se espera que las entregas de dichas aeronaves comiencen en el 2018, convirtiendo a Fiji Airways en tener una de las flotas más jóvenes de la región Asia Pacífico. La aerolínea utiliza actualmente sus Boeing 737 en rutas de corto y mediano alcance, hacia destinos como: Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Hawaii, Kiribati, Samoa, Islas Salomón, Tonga y Vanuatu. Una vez finalizada la orden será publicada en la lista de pedidos y entregas de Boeing. 

Fiji Airways announces intent to purchase for five B737 MAX

Through a statement the US manufacturer Boeing reported that Fiji Airways announced the purchase commitment for five 737-800 MAX aircraft that will help in the restructuring plan and update the fleet of short and medium radio.

The restructuring requires the replacement of the current fleet of Boeing 737-700 / 800, which will rent to GECAS, for a sale after 12 years and under a Leaseback financing agreement.

«Boeing is honored that Fiji Airways has selected the 737 MAX for its fleet renewal plan, and we welcome Fiji Airways as our new customer of the 737 MAX model,» said Dinesh Keskar, Senior Vice President Sales for Asia-Pacific and Boeing India’s Commercial Airplanes.

Deliveries of such aircraft are expected to begin in 2018, making Fiji Airways one of the youngest fleets in the Asia Pacific region. The airline currently uses its Boeing 737 on short- and medium-range routes to destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu. Once the order is finished, it will be published in the list of orders and deliveries of Boeing. A\W
