Vuelo AA1693 de American incendia motor
El pasado domingo, el vuelo AA1693 operado por American Airlines, entre el aeropuerto de Dallas-Fort Worth con destino al internacional de McCarran (Las Vegas), tuvo que desviarse debido al incendio del motor derecho (2), cuando este se encontraba a 28.000 pies en nivel de vuelo.
El A321-200 presentó la falla a 120 millas náuticas de Albuquerque, lo que obligó a la tripulación a realizar el corte del motor 2 y posteriormente desviar el vuelo hacia el aeropuerto de Albuquerque; la aeronave aterrizó sin problemas 25 minutos más tarde.
Aún se desconocen las causas que haya provocado el incendio en el motor (V2533) de la aeronave matrícula N551UW.
El equipo tuvo que permanecer en el aeropuerto después de su aterrizaje. Un avión de remplazo llegó para continuar con el vuelo hacia Las Vegas; los pasajeros sufrieron de un retraso de casi 8 horas.
