La compañía emitió el miércoles unas fotos de la aeronave en busca de pintura nueva y añadió que el lanzamiento oficial del avión está programado para la próxima semana.

A partir de ahí, el avión entrará en pruebas de vuelo, ya que empuja hacia una entrada de servicio prevista en 2018. Spirit AeroSystems Inc. en Wichita construye alrededor del 70 por ciento de cada 737 para Boeing.

The Boeing Co. is making final preparations to officially unveil the newest member of its 737 family of aircraft, the 737 MAX 9

The company on Wednesday tweeted photos of the aircraft getting some new paint and added that the official rollout of the plane is slated for next week.

From there, the plane will enter flight testing as it pushes toward a planned service entry in 2018. Spirit AeroSystems Inc. in Wichita builds about 70 percent of every 737 for Boeing.

ASSEMBLY OF THE FIRST BOEING 737-9 MAX

The first fuselage for the Dash 9 variant arrived from Spirit late last year. Spirit has work on all Boeing commercial programs, but the 737 — including the MAX variants — drive the majority of work for it and its local supply base in the Air Capital.

The smaller MAX variant, the Dash 8, is expected to enter service by the middle of this year. Boeing has more than 3,600 orders for the 737 MAX aircraft on its books, making it the fastest-selling aircraft in the company’s history. A\W
