Southwest Airlines ha presentado sus primeras rutas para la más nueva aeronave, el Boeing 737-8 MAX, ya que se prepara para recibir la entrega del avión re-motorizado de que era cliente de lanzamiento.

La aerolínea con sede en Dallas operará el 737 MAX a partir del 1 de octubre, con el vuelo inaugural de ingresos que sale de Dallas Love Field a las 07:00 para Houston Hobby. Luego continuará a San Antonio antes de regresar a Dallas.

La ruta de vuelo es similar al primer vuelo de Southwest el 18 de junio de 1971 – excepto que la aerolínea operó 737-200 entonces y había volado a Houston Intercontinental en lugar de Hobby.

Southwest dice que lanzará nueve Boeing 737-8  MAX  en operaciones el 1 de octubre, seguido por el décimo una semana más tarde. Terminará 2017 con 14 aviones Boeing 737-8 MAX  en su flota.

El transportista retirará sus 737-300 restantes del servicio el 30 de septiembre, el día antes de que el 737 MAX entre en operaciones. Southwest aún tiene 86 737-300 en servicio, muestra Flight Fleets Analyzer.

En abril, Southwest anunció que acelerará el retiro de sus 737 Classics, para evitar complicaciones de entrenamiento de pilotos cuando el 737 MAX llegue a bordo. El gigante de bajo coste tiene órdenes 200 737 aviones MAX, que comprende 170 MAX 8s y 30 MAX 7s.

 

Boeing 737 MAX 8 gana la certificación FAA

El Boeing 737 MAX 8, la primera variante de la 737 motorizada con propulsión exclusiva de los motores LEAP-1B de CFM International, ha obtenido la certificación FAA.

Después de más de un año de programa de pruebas en vuelo con cuatro aviones, la FAA ha verificado «el diseño cumple con las regulaciones de aviación requeridas y es seguro y confiable», dijo Boeing.

Se espera que el 737 MAX 8 entre en servicio este verano con Norwegian Air Shuttle. Southwest Airlines, con sede en Dallas, que colocó la orden de lanzamiento para el 737 MAX, se espera que ponga su primer MAX 8 en servicio el 1 de octubre de 2017.

La certificación del MAX 8 se produce dos días después de que la siguiente variante 737 remanufacturada, el MAX 9, se desplegara. Boeing ha conseguido más de 3.600 órdenes de aeronaves de la familia 737 MAX de 83 clientes. El cuerpo estrecho re-engined de Airbus, el A320neo, ha estado en servicio desde enero de 2016.

Southwest unveils first 737 Max routes

Southwest Airlines has unveiled its first Boeing 737-8 MAX routes, as it prepares to take delivery of the re-engined jet that it was launch customer of.

The Dallas-based carrier will operate the 737 MAX from 1 October, with the inaugural revenue flight departing Dallas Love Field at 07:00 for Houston Hobby. It will then continue to San Antonio before returning to Dallas.

The flight routing is similar to Southwest’s first flight back on 18 June 1971 – except that the airline operated 737-200s then and had flown to Houston Intercontinental instead of Hobby.

Southwest says it will launch nine Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft into operations on 1 October, followed by the tenth about a week later. It will end 2017 with 14 737-8 MAX  aircraft in its fleet.

The carrier will retire its remaining 737-300s from service on 30 September, the day before the 737 MAX enters operations. Southwest still has 86 737-300s in service, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.

In April, Southwest announced it will accelerate the retirement of its 737 Classics, to avoid pilot training complexities when the 737 MAX comes on board. The low-cost giant has orders 200 737 Max aircraft, comprising 170 MAX 8s and 30 MAX 7s. A\W

Boeing 737 MAX 8 gains FAA certification

The Boeing 737 MAX 8, the first variant of the re-engined 737 exclusively powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, has gained FAA certification.

After a more than year-long flight test program with four aircraft, FAA has verified “the design complies with required aviation regulations and is safe and reliable,” Boeing said.

The 737 MAX 8 is expected to enter service this summer with Norwegian Air Shuttle. Dallas-based Southwest Airlines, which placed the launch order for the 737 MAX, is expected to put its first MAX 8 into service Oct. 1, 2017.

Certification of the MAX 8 comes two days after the next re-engined 737 variant, the MAX 9, rolled out. Boeing has secured more than 3,600 737 MAX family aircraft orders from 83 customers. Airbus’s re-engined narrowbody, the A320neo, has been in service since January 2016. A\W
