 El vuelo AR 1842 que realizaba la ruta Córdoba-Rosario de Aerolíneas Argentinas había despegado del aeropuerto internacional de Córdoba y debió regresar de emergencia a esa terminal aérea debido a un desperfecto al alcanzar la altura de crucero.

Los pasajeros fueron asistidos por Aerolíneas Argentinas, almorzaron en el aeropuerto, y a las 18.25 tomarán el vuelo con destino Rosario-Aeroparque-El Calafate.

La hija de una pasajera contó que el avión «despegó a horario» y cuando alcanzó la velocidad crucero de 10 mil metros, «se escuchó como una explosión», como una «turbulencia».

«Cuando se estabilizó, el piloto dijo que había habido una falla en el motor y estaban fuera de peligro; volvieron al aeropuerto de Córdoba porque era el más cercano y pidieron el aterrizaje de emergencia», añadió.

En dialogo con la emisora Cadena 3, la mujer relató que «el avión empezó a descender, no muy fuerte, pero se notaba que descendía. Fue por problemas en un motor». Por su parte, Sergio Reza, jefe del Aeropuerto, dijo que «no hubo ningún inconveniente».
