The Singapore-based aircraft leasing firm BOC Aviation said it has ordered 13 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes worth a total of US$1.4 billion at list prices.

The Singapore-based aircraft leasing firm BOC Aviation said it has ordered 13 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes worth a total of US$1.4 billion at list prices.

BOC Aviation, owned by Bank of China, is based in Singapore with offices in Dublin, London and Tianjin. It is a key customer for both the European aircraft maker Airbus and its US rival Boeing.
BOC Aviation said its fleet is leased to 68 airlines in 32 countries as of end December last year.
Following the latest purchase agreement, the company said its cumulative outstanding orders, purchases and deliveries from Boeing total 331 aircraft.
Most of its Boeing planes are from the single-aisle 737 family, a popular choice among low-cost carriers, which have expanded rapidly in South East Asia. A\W
BOC Aviation plaatst nieuwe bestelling voor 737 MAX
Leasemaatschappij BOC Aviation breidt de portfolio van Boeing-vliegtuigen verder uit. De in Singapore gevestigde onderneming, onderdeel van de Bank of China, heeft een bestelling geplaatst voor dertien extra Boeing 737 MAX 8-vliegtuigen.
BOC Aviation zegt de toestellen te hebben besteld vanwege de groeide vraag naar brandstofzuinige toestellen als de 737 MAX 8. In totaal heeft de onderneming nu 74 van dit nieuwe type in bestelling.
In totaal heeft BOC Aviation nu 331 vliegtuigen in bestelling staan bij Boeing, waaronder ook 209 737NG’s. Onlangs vierde het bedrijf de aflevering van het tweehonderdste Boeing-toestel.
BOC Aviation is ook een grote klant van Airbus. Vorige week werden nog enkele A320’s besteld. In totaal bestelde de leasemaatschappij 367 vliegtuigen bij de Europese aartsrivaal van Boeing. A\W
