Un Boeing 737-200 de Cubana de Aviación se estrella en La Habana con 104 pasajeros: hay tres sobrevivientes
La televisión estatal cubana informa que un Boeing 737-200 arrendado por Cubana de Aviación se estrelló cuando despegó del aeropuerto José Martí de La Habana, dice Cuba TV. Los servicios de emergencia están respondiendo. Tres pasajeros fueron llevados a hospitales en estado crítico y se cree que son los únicos supervivientes.

Cubana de Aviación publicó los números de teléfono de los familiares del vuelo DMJ-972 (indicativo que confirma a Global Aerolíneas Damojh). La tripulación y 5 pasajeros eran de nacionalidad extranjera, los otros pasajeros eran cubanos.
Según ATDB Global Aerolineas, Damojh opera tres Boeing 737: un Boeing 737-200 de registro XA-UHZ, un Boeing 737-200 XA-UMQ y un Boeing 737-500 XA-UZK. Ninguno de los aviones apareció en los transpondedores en modo S a lo largo del día hasta el accidente. Más tarde, el día en que los datos del transpondedor identificaron a XA-UMQ mostraron que el avión operaba cerca de la Ciudad de México.
El vuelo se dirigía a Holguín, un vuelo doméstico, según medios estatales. No está claro si hay víctimas mortales. Inicialmente se reportó que volaba hacia Guyana, esa información fue corregida por los medios estatales.
