El Volcán de Fuego entra en actividad nuevamente cancelando vuelos en Guatemala

El cambio en la dirección del viento ha provocado que el Volcán de Fuego, ubicado a unos 50 kilómetros de la capital, desprenda ceniza en comunidades de Alotenango, Antigua, Ciudad Vieja e incluso en algunas áreas de la capital. Así lo ha comunicado el Instituto Nacional de Sismología, Vulcanología, Meteorología e Hidrología (Insivumeh) en un boletín especial en el que recuerda que el cono tiene entre 13 y 18 explosiones débiles y moderadas por oran que levantan una columna de ceniza a unos 4 mil 800 metros de altura, que se dispersa a 45 kilómetros en dirección este y noroeste.La Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil de Guatemala aseguró que mantiene la vigilancia y la constante comunicación con el ente científico para monitorear el comportamiento de esta capa de ceniza del Volcán de Fuego.

Por el momento informamos que una aerolínea comercial internacional canceló sus vuelos hacia el aeropuerto internacional La Aurora, aunque las operaciones se desarrollan con absoluta normalidad.

Las explosiones generan sonidos de desgasificación y retumbos con ondas de choque provocan vibraciones en las viviendas cercanas al volcán, además de avalanchas que se dirigen a las barrancas Seca, Taniluya, Ceniza, Trinidad y Las Lajas.

El pasado 3 Junio 2018, el Volcán de Fuego, uno de los que está en constante actividad en Guatemala, registró una de las erupciones más fuertes de su historia dejando 201 muertos, 229 desaparecidos y casi 2 millones de personas afectadas, además de cuantiosos daños materiales.
