IATA publica nueve modelos avión que dominan el mundo

Nueve modelos de avión, casi todos de Airbus y Boeing, acaparan el 83% de todas las entregas, cobrando aún más peso respecto a 2018. El proceso de reflotación de las compañías permitirá avanzar en el compromiso sostenible. La Asociación del Transporte Aéreo Internacional (IATA) ha hecho públicos los modelos de avión que dominarán el mundo durante este 2022. El 737-8 MAX se lleva la palma, acaparando más del 25% de las entregas previstas para este año. Le siguen el A321NEO (20%) y el A320NEO (14%). Tras ellos se encuentran el 737-7 MAX, el A220-300, el 787-9, el A350-900, el E175, y el 737-9 MAX, con cuotas de entre un 3% y un 5%. Entre todos los mencionados abarcarán el 83% del total, cobrando aún más peso respecto a 2018 (78%).

El lobby aéreo asegura que las entregas crecerán notablemente a lo largo del 2022 hasta aproximadamente 1.550. Cabe recordar que la pandemia obligó a las aerolíneas a dejar en tierra gran parte de sus flotas, a retirar los modelos de aviones más antiguos y menos eficientes, y a frenar o cancelar las entregas. De hecho, se redujeron de unos 1.400 en 2019 a unos 800 en 2020. Ahora, este proceso de reflotación por parte de las compañías permitirá avanzar en el compromiso sostenible, ya que cada nueva generación de aviones quema entre un 15 y un 20% menos de combustible por pasajero-kilómetro que el avión al que sustituye. Ello se debe a que los motores son más eficientes en cuanto al consumo de combustible, a la mejora de la aerodinámica y al uso de materiales más ligeros.
