United retrasa regreso Boeing 777 con motor PW
United Airlines ha retirado docenas de aviones Boeing 777 con motores Pratt & Whitney (PW) de su programa de vuelo hasta al menos el 13 de Mayo de 2022, informó el Viernes 08/04 después de que la aerolínea había planeado que al menos algunos de los aviones volvieran al servicio este mes. Los 777 con motor Pratt & Whitney fueron retirados del servicio después de una falla en el motor poco después del despegue de Denver en Febrero de 2021.
United Airlines que opera más de cincuenta (50) de los 777 propulsados por motores Pratt, es la única aerolínea estadounidense que vuela el modelo específico de motor en un 777. «Debido al retraso en el regreso de nuestros aviones PW777 al servicio activo, el programa de vuelos de mayo se está reconfigurando para dar cuenta de la falta de estos aviones», dijo United en una nota enviada a los pilotos.
La Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA) dijo el mes pasado que estaba finalizando nuevas directivas de seguridad destinadas a reparar los motores Pratt & Whitney en algunos aviones 777 en tierra que les permitirían regresar al servicio.

United Airlines has withdrawn dozens of Boeing 777 aircraft with Pratt & Whitney (PW) engines from its flight program until at least May 13, 2022, reported on Friday 04/08 after the airline had planned that at least some of the planes returned to service this month. The Pratt & Whitney-powered 777s were withdrawn from service after an engine failure shortly after takeoff from Denver in February 2021.
United Airlines, which operates more than 50 of the 777s powered by Pratt engines, is the only U.S. airline to fly the specific engine model on a 777. «Due to the delay in returning our PW777 aircraft to active service, the flight schedule May is being reconfigured to account for the lack of these aircraft», United said in a note sent to pilots.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said last month that it was finalizing new safety directives aimed at repairing Pratt & Whitney engines on some grounded 777s that would allow them to return to service.
