Alliance Air operará bajo Gobierno de la India

Alliance Air, anteriormente parte de Air India, ahora se encuentra bajo el control del Gobierno de la India. Se ha convertido en una unidad de negocio independiente bajo el control del Gobierno. Alliance Air fue anteriormente parte del grupo Air India antes de la desinversión de este último. Actualmente, opera como una división bajo Air India Asset Holdings Pvt Ltd (AIAHL) y operará con el código de vuelo “9I”. Fue fundada en 1996 como una subsidiaria de propiedad total de la entonces Indian Airlines, que más tarde se fusionó con Air India. Alliance Air posee actualmente una flota de diecinueve (19) aviones turboprop 18 ATR-72 (18) y Dornier-228 (1), que opera en más de cien rutas regionales que conectan ciudades de Nivel II y Nivel III. El Gobierno de la India ahora tiene a Alliance Air como la única aerolínea bajo su control. “Alliance Air, a partir del 15 de Abril de 2022, ya no formará parte de Air India después de su desinversión, y se ejecutará como una unidad de negocio independiente bajo el gobierno de la India”, dijo la aerolínea en un comunicado. Alliance Air, formerly part of Air India, is now under the control of the Government of India. It has become an independent business unit under government control. It was founded in 1996 as a wholly owned subsidiary of then Indian Airlines, which later merged with Air India. The airline mainly operates on domestic regional routes as part of the Government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme.

Alliance Air currently owns a fleet of nineteen (19) ATR-72 (18) and Dornier-228 (1) turboprop aircraft, operating over one hundred regional routes connecting Tier II and Tier III cities. In financial terms, the airline had made an operating profit of ₹ 65 Crore (cr) in 2019-20 on revenue of ₹ 1,182 Crore.

The Government of India now has Alliance Air as the only airline under its control. “Alliance Air, as of April 15, 2022, will no longer be part of Air India after its divestiture, and will be run as an independent business unit under the Government of India”, the airline said in a statement. The airline will now sell its tickets under the Alliance Air banner with the flight code “9I”. The airline is headed by Chief Executive Officer Vineet Sood. Last year, Tata Group bought the indebted Air India from the central government by bidding more than Rs 18,000 crore at auction. On January 27, 2022, it assumed full control of Air India. On Thursday 04/14, Air India had said that Alliance Air is no longer its subsidiary. In a tweet, the airline had said on Thursday: “Passengers holding Air India tickets under flight number 9I will be reservations belonging to Alliance Air. Reservations or inquiries related to Alliance Air will not be handled by Air India as of April 15, 2022”.
