Boeing abre su primera fábrica europea

Resultado de imagen para Boeing Sheffield

AW | 2018 10 028 16:17 | INDUSTRY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Boeing opens its first European factory

Boeing opens first European factory in Sheffield, United Kingdom

The 40 million pound Boeing Sheffield plant near Rotherham, in the south of the United Kingdom, has a total of 52 employees in its 6,200 square meter factory. Boeing has taken the wrist to Airbus by opening a new factory in Europe. This, of course, is another movement of power between the two companies, which last month had a fight between customers in China. The domain of Boeing extends to Europe in the territory of the European constructor Airbus SE, who has exercised a considerable dominion when settling in Mobile, State of Alabama, United States, under the name of Airbus US.

The new Boeing factory in Sheffield will manufacture thousands of components for Boeing on lines 737 and 767, which will be shipped back to the United States for final assembly. Because United Kingdom is about to leave the European Union in March 2018, this will mean that the United States can negotiate much better trade agreements with the United Kingdom. They will not be hampered by restrictions or tariffs imposed by EU states and, therefore, Boeing will be able to obtain additional savings by employing local talent. This would be without the costs that an EU company, such as Airbus, would have provided. The American manufacturer in this way is positioning itself with the geographical proximity of many Airbus customers.

The United Kingdom has a lot of aerospace talent that will now have two possible big employers, Boeing and Airbus. Airbus has manufacturing facilities in France and produces products throughout the EU, but thanks to this movement of Boeing, now it will have to protect its own talent so that it does not suffer an exodus of personnel. They have approximately 10,000 workers only in the United Kingdom.

Boeing has also partnered with the local University of Sheffield, particularly its Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (AMRC) to guide young graduates in the world of advanced aerospace engineering. This is to take advantage of the grants offered by the UK government for innovation. This could very well be a precursor to Boeing moving some real aircraft assembly to the United Kingdom so that it would really shoot at Airbus. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

The final agreement needs the approval of the Brazilian government, which has the final say in any Embraer operation, a Golden Share, which entitles it to veto the business. According to Silva, the elections that will be held this weekend and the new president that the country will have as of January 1, 2018 will not alter the negotiations, which may end before the end of this year.

The Minister of Defense, Joaquim Silva e Luna, said that «the government sees it as an approximation, the tendency is for everything to happen as it is imagining.» Commercial aircraft production in Brazil will increase with the agreement, it will be a business in There are only profits, the government was not officially consulted, it did not manifest itself, but it also did not present restrictions on anything», he said.

Embraer, the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer and leader in the regional aviation segment, and Boeing, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, have been negotiating the creation of a Joint Venture for almost a year, in a business valued at around US $ 3,800 million dollars in which the American manufacturer would have 80% of the capital of the company and the Brazilian, the remaining 20%. The Brussels-Zaventem Airport, the main airport in Belgium, has suffered a total of 150 flights canceled out of the scheduled 550 due to the strike of the Aviapartner workers who, among other tasks, are responsible for moving the suitcases. Discusión futuro Aeropuerto de Lisboa

AW | 2018 10 27 12:23 | AIRPORTS

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Discussion about future Lisbon Airport

The new Lisbon Airport, Portugal is debating its position

The Montijo area is the option for the future Lisbon Airport. The choice of Montijo to receive the future airport divides the municipalities of the district of Setúbal between those in favor, such as Alcochete and Montijo and those who are against, such as Moita and Seixal. Air Base Nº6 of Montijo has the infrastructure to move the new airport in Portugal.

Also along the Tagus River, but overlooking Lisbon, the President of the Chamber of Alcochete, Fernando Pinto (PS) showed Lusa that supports the construction of this infrastructure in Montijo, since it is currently possible to heal the wound existing at the Humberto Delgado airport. However, he revealed that, in his opinion, the ideal solution would be the construction of an airport city. «This airport solution is not a solution to remedy, it is a solution that will have a beginning, middle and end of life, but until there we will find solutions and financial capacity to build what I would like to see built, which was in fact an airport city, with conditions and distinguishing characteristics of what could eventually be integrated here in Air Base Nº6», commented Fernando Pinto. For Fernando Pinto, the new airport will be a lever for the development of the region and will bring, above all, more employability and will boost the local economy, which are aspects of the sustainability of a municipality positively positive.

The Municipality of Moita has demonstrated against the new airport in Montijo, defending the Alternative Field of Tire of Alcochete, which is located between Montijo and Benavente, in Santarém.

Environmental impact

A controversial issue around the new airport is the environmental impacts that this infrastructure can cause in the Montijo and the municipalities involved, particularly in terms of increased noise, the danger to birds and the risk of collision with them. As for the Tajo estuary, where hundreds of flamingos were found, Nuno Canta explained that the new airport is designed for at least 50 years and that it will not be low cost, but rather point-to-point between European cities and the Portuguese capital . He also considers that the risk to birds in aviation is a very common question, which is also carried out in Lisbon, which is only put in discussion to alarm people. A \ W

Latinoamérica aumentará flotas aéreas

AW | 2018 10 27 12:03 | AIRLINES MARKET

Latin American airlines will increase fleets

The fleet of Latin American airlines will more than double by 2037

The latest forecast for long-term delivery expects the Latin American fleet to double in the next 20 years to nearly 4,500 aircraft, according to Flight Ascend Consultancy’s Market Analysis Chief Chris Seymour.

Although Latin America has suffered from the recession in Brazil and the economic problems in Venezuela, the prospects for long-term growth for the region of the ALTA airlines are solid.

The analysis for Latin America, Central America and the Caribbean maintains that passenger capacity will grow by 6.1% per year over the next 20 years and cargo capacity by 6.2%. This increase in traffic flow will translate into an increase of 4% per year in the next 20 years for the size of the fleets of the airlines, reaching forecasts of around 4,450 aircraft. The fleet has averaged an annual growth of 1.7% in the last 20 years and in 2,000 units it represents 7% of the world total. This will increase to 8% by 2037.

Around 93% of the fleet is currently used in the passenger market and 7% is used to transport cargo; this participation will change to a reduction of the 4% load quota for 2037, since the growth in the available belly space is faster than the need for the main deck cargo.

Deliveries to Latin American airlines averaged 140 units per year during 2012-2015, driven by the growth of low-cost airlines and double aisle replacement, but dropped to 63 in 2017. A recovery and a Once the short-term slowdown in some markets are exceeded, it is forecast that the region will increase its delivery rate to an average of more than 160 per year until the 2020s and up to 275 per year at the end of the forecast. In general, 3,940 new deliveries are planned in the next 20 years, representing 8% of global deliveries worth US $ 222 billion.

Deliveries include some 3,700 passenger aircraft, 225 turboprops and 20 freighters. The total of the airplane includes more than 2,950 types of single passenger corridor and 370 types of double corridor. Around 75% of the current fleet will be replaced, with almost 62% of deliveries for growth purposes. It is anticipated that the Latin American fleet will remain focused on the narrowbodies on the forecast, with a current share of 51% of the total fleet that will rise to 60% by 2037. Regional aircraft will remain stable in a 13% and the types of two aisles will remain at 8%.

Key region, Latin America

Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the key regions for the growth of passengers in the future, with an increase in leisure traffic stimulated by low-cost airlines and liberalization in the main markets. It is predicted that the passenger aircraft fleet will grow 5% annually for 20 years to 3,880 aircraft. With a fleet of around 270, the regional aircraft has experienced an important resurgence in the Latin American market in the last 10 years, with orders (mainly for Embraer) from Central and South America. FlightGlobal, a specialized aviation portal, predicts some 545 new regional jet shipments, increasing the fleet to 570 by 2037. It is expected that about 79% of new deliveries will be single-aisle aircraft, and that these 2,790 aircraft will increase the fleet to 2,950 for 2037.

It is forecast that the double aisle passenger fleet of 160 will grow 4.4% per year to about 370, with 360 new deliveries, more than a third for replacement. The delivery focus is on the medium types (35% and 43% each for 250 and 300 seats), with types such as the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A330 to serve mainly the United States market and 777, A330 and A350 for Europe and some routes to Asia. The 350 seats of higher capacity only begin to have significant annual deliveries in the second half of the forecast and we do not predict any demand in the large category.

The Latin American fleet of passenger turboprops has a 12% share of the world total. Although the fleet remained at around 480 aircraft in the period 2007-2015, it decreased in 2016-2017 to 410, as the Brazilian fleet was rationalized. The forecast is 230 deliveries in the next 20 years, with the fleet initially decreasing and then stabilizing at around 400. By 2037, all but 170 of the fleet will be of the size of 70-90 seats.

Rolls-Royce carencia motor al A330NEO

AW | 2018 10 27 11:37 | INDUSTRY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Rolls-Royce shortages engines to the A330NEO

Rolls-Royce has entered into a disruption in engine delivery times for the Airbus A330-800NEO line. The turbine manufacturer acknowledged that it does not arrive on time with the deliveries agreed with the European consortium due to various technical and operational problems.

THE assembly line of the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines for October 2018, is only 10 engines that will have been delivered to Airbus. The compromised number agreed with the European Airbus consortium had been 30 turbines, which will affect the A330-800NEO production line chain, which states that only fifteen A330NEO’s units could be completed.Resultado de imagen para rolls royce trent 7000Rolls-Royce stumbles not only annoy Airbus production. On the other side of the Atlantic, Boeing has also had problems with the engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce. Boeing suffers from headaches for the problems of the RR Trent 1000, which forced several airlines to leave their Boeing 787 on the ground while undergoing technical checks.

The complications caused by Rolls-Royce led some airlines to be forced to rent other aircraft to meet their schedules in full summer season, as did Norwegian with the Hi Fly A380.

Voices of Rolls-Royce

The problems with those engines became a «source of anxiety for our customers, and we should not exacerbate it because of the lack of delivery of the Trent 7000,» said a Rolls-Royce statement to its employees. «We have caused a big problem for Airbus, and we are working with them to solve the situation with their customers,» said the text signed by the president of the civil aerospace division Chris Cholerton and the Director of large engines, Chris Young.

Pratt & Whitney, the other nightmare of Airbus

Airbus was hopeful that by the end of the year the A330NEO could see the light, a model that has been delayed for a year. The problems with the motors move away the dream to arrive at the 800 planes manufactured in the year in the plant of Toulouse in France. Pratt & Whitney is also failing in the delivery schedule and will lead Airbus to produce between 30 and 40 A320NEO aircraft less than expected.

Threats of sanctions

Rolls-Royce has around the corner the threat of economic problems for breaching the deadlines: in addition to the penalties that Airbus could present, in case any airline needs to rent planes, it will have to take over the bill. For example, the Icelandic low cost Wow air, which had two A330NEO in November 2018, will have to settle for receiving them in February 2018. Due to this situation, the airline informed that it will have to cancel several routes in April 2018.

Rolls-Royce had reserved almost US$ 1,500 million to solve the problems of the Trent 1000 until 2022, either to end the checks as to compensate the airlines that have to leave the Boeing 787 in the hangar to repair the engines. A \ W
