AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

LAER between heaven and its liquidation

Evaluated liquidation of LAER Líneas Aéreas de Argentina

After four years without taking off, LAER (Líneas Aéreas Entre Ríos), analyzed a possible liquidation of the regional airline of Argentina. It is a non-operating state airline of Argentina, native of the Province of Entre Ríos, which carried out regular flights from this province of the Litoral Region to Buenos Aires and other points.

LAER is a company that was created in 1967 by the Government of Entre Rios to join the isolation on the routes between the Province of Entre Ríos with the rest of the country, using regional aircraft.

The current interconnector of Líneas Aéreas de Entre Ríos (LAER), Luis Alfredo De Meyer, explained that since 2014 he does not carry out flights but that he continues to operate with a minimum structure. In this regard, he reported that «the liquidation of the company and the possibility of directing a transformation in an aeronautical direction are evaluated, but they are decisions that the Executive must make. The balances that needed to be regularized are being cleaned up, stating that the financial years 2014, 2015, 2016 have already been carried out and we are in the process of finishing 2017 and 2018». Currently the company has seven employees, of the 33 that were when he took over the intervention. He explained that «LAER does not pay salaries; We had transfers from the Executive Power for those hired and for the other employees since they were paid a bonus for the activity that was carried out and that these transfers were around AR $ 250,000 pesos per month. Today the contractors who left were paid by the government in the different departments and the extra they had in LAER no longer charge it». While the workshop does not provide mechanical services since repairing an aircraft is not a minor issue but must be done with all the expertise and all the qualifications of the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC).

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

US airlines and child migration policy

Airlines demand that feds stop using their flights to transport migrant children separated from their parents

Several US airlines on Wednesday called on the federal government to refrain from using its planes to transport migrant children separated from their families, saying that Trump’s controversial administrative practice does not align with its values.

The announcements of US, US and border airlines came amid reports that the president would sign an executive order that ends family separations at the US-Mexico border, and more airlines will follow suit.

The companies’ attempts to distance themselves from the political controversy provoked a strong rebuke from Tyler Houlton, a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, who accused the corporations of «Fastening a false narrative from the media». A\W

Swoop inicia ops en Canadá

AW | 2018 06 20 11:35 | AIRLINES / AIRLINES MARKET

Conectará vuelos a Abbotsford, Halifax, Edmonton y Winnipeg y espera anunciar pronto vuelos a EEUU y México.

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Swoop is starting with two aircraft in its fleet, they will have 6 aircraft by the end of this year and a total of 10 by the middle of next year. The Hamilton International Airport is the base of the operations of the new low cost airline.

Swoop will keep a low cost rate, but you must pay an extra if you want to check a bag or eat something during your flight. Swoop says that by the end of this year they will have hired 200 employees in the city. It will connect flights to Abbotsford, Halifax, Edmonton and Winnipeg and hopes to announce flights to the US and Mexico soon.

Swoop_Route_MaAW-p.jpg

The low-cost air travel market in Canada has had a new competitor in the skies of Canada. The subsidiary of WestJet, Swoop, has initiated the ascent to the conquest of the skies of North America.

The pink and white Boeing 737-800 with 189 seats on board took off from Hamilton to Abbotsford, BC, officially marking the inaugural trip of the new ultra low cost carrier (ULCC) from Canada.

Resultado de imagen para swoop airlinesBOEING 737-800 OF SWOOP AIRLINES

The airline aims to make money for its owners by offering no-frills flights between Canadian secondary airports such as Halifax, Edmonton, Winnipeg and the two cities mentioned above. The airports that Swoop will serve initially tend to have much lower landing and landing fees than busy airports in major hubs such as Toronto and Vancouver. Planes will also have more seats than standard WestJet flights. The design of its two aircraft will accommodate 189 paying customers at full capacity, while some WestJet flights on planes of similar size have a maximum of 150 seats.

Low cost market

The company focuses on the millions of Canadians WestJet says usually travel to smaller US cities near the border to fly with ULCCs like Spirit, Frontier and Allegiant, which offer pan-continental travel at rock-bottom prices.

Conventional airlines have made much of their money in recent years by serving business travelers who can pay and pay extra for bonuses and loyalty reward points.

Cheap and no-cost airfares have arrived in Canada. With Swoop, WestJet points to the opposite end of the spectrum: people who do not fly as much as they want because of the cost. Swoop wants to beat these travelers with a base price as cheaply as possible. Prices start at just $ 49 for a one-way ticket, with additional charges for benefits such as on-board entertainment and refreshments.

Swoop is not alone in space. Flair Airlines operates a similar business model among Canadian secondary markets, and after some uncertainty, plans to expand soon. Another participant, Jetlines, was planning to launch originally this month, but has delayed those plans to resolve some details. The airline says it is still on its way to take flight next year. Rouge, owned by Air Canada, is not a ULCC per se, but instead targets a similar segment of the market, generating revenue for Air Canada by flying more complete aircraft with fewer advantages at a lower cost than regular Air Canada flights. Other companies have also shaken the airspace of Canada, but not flying cheaply between Canadian cities. Instead, they offer Canadian travelers cheap rates for Europe. Wow Air was launched in 2016 with service to Europe via Iceland, and starting next month, the Latvian airline Primera Air plans to offer seven flights per week between Toronto and Montreal and London and Paris. Norwegian Air will begin towards 2018 finalers to offer flights between Canada, Europe and the French Caribbean.

The history of Canadian aviation is plagued by failed companies, such as Canada 3000, which sank in 2001, and Jetsgo, which left passengers stranded when it broke out in 2005. The scenario is open, low fare offers win new skies in Canada. A \ W

American would not fulfill contract with Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo sued American Airlines for not returning the planes rented on time

Wells Fargo filed a lawsuit Monday against American Airlines alleging that the airline violated leases by not returning three planes on time. The bank rented three US Boeing aircraft during the fall of 2017, which were returned 49, 45 and two days later, according to the lawsuit.

About the Boeing 737 MAX

The 737 MAX is the fastest-selling aircraft in the history of Boeing, accumulating more than 4,500 orders from 99 customers around the world. The aircraft family is powered by the CFM International LEAP-1B engines and includes design updates such as Boeing’s Advanced Technology winglet that will reduce drag and optimize performance, especially on longer range missions. Taken together, these improvements reduce fuel use and CO2 emissions by at least 14 percent compared to today’s 737s, and by 20 percent more than the single-aisle aircraft they replace.

Leasing of the «MAX»

Jet Airways has formed a partnership with GECAS that has allowed the introduction of the modern and low consumption Boeing 737 MAX aircraft fleet. Jackson Square Aviation and Jet Airways also recently reached a sales and lease agreement covering six new Boeing 737-8 MAXs that will be delivered starting in 2019. A \ W

Revisión Reglas de Aviación Civil Nigeria

AW-788233334.jpg

AW | 2018 06 19 13:38 | AVIATION SAFETY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Review Civil Aviation Rules Nigeria

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nigeria (NCAA) has attributed to reduce air crash rate by improved regulations in civil aviation

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nigeria (NCAA) can request the commitment of interested parties for a review of the Civil Aviation Regulations of 2015 (Nig CAR), Daily Trust can inform.

Of particular importance was the part that stipulates the number of aircraft that will be presented by the possible operators that request the Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

In recent times, calls have been made for the requirements of the two aircraft to be revised upwards due to capacity limitations of the operators. Part 9.1.1.6 of Nig. The CAR stipulates that an operator may be denied AOC if «the applicant does not have three Nigerian registered airworthy aircraft, at least two airworthy aircraft capable of servicing its approved schedule if it is already in operation, and for unscheduled operation, a registered Nigerian aircraft».

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nigeria (NCAA) has attributed the reduction of the air accident rate to improved civil aviation regulations, improved air navigation equipment at airports and airside and the development of global strategies for transport safety.

Its Director General, Captain Mukthar Usman, in an interview in Lagos, said that Nigeria had witnessed zero accidents in passenger and cargo flights in the last three years. This, he said, meant that Nigeria was aligning itself with the global trend where accident rates have declined markedly in recent years.

Usman said the NCAA will continue to look for global strategies and programs that will improve civil aviation regulations as they affect their regulatory processes, procedures, systems and personnel.

Currently there are seven airlines that operate regular flights with all of them together with less than 40 aircraft. The airlines are Arik Air, Air Peace, Med-View, Aero Contractors, Dana Air, Azman Air and Overland. The First Nation AOC was recently suspended for operating with an airplane. The NCAA Chief said the authority has stepped up its game in the regulation of personnel and the renewal of licenses for pilots and other technical personnel as part of efforts to improve aviation safety.

As the safety of global aviation continues to increase, there has been a sharp drop in the accident rate in Africa and the Indian Ocean region. Between 2015 and 2016, it has decreased from 7.3% to approximately 1.2%. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

LADE low SAAB 340B due to lack of maintenance

Resultado de imagen para LADE LOGOLADE would stop flying due to lack of maintenance on its Saab S340B aircraft. Serious violation of safety regulations

The Argentine Air Force, run by LADE Líneas Aéreas, has decided to divest the current fleet of SAAB 340B aircraft until further notice. The aircraft exceeded for two years the term of the safety check established by the Swedish manufacturer.

The head of the Argentine Air Force Brigadier General Enrique Amrein ordered the suspension of all flights of SAAB 340 airplanes of the State, LADE. This is two SAAB 340B that during 2016 had to be subjected to maintenance tasks in the landing gear and flew without that revision for two years. For that decision of the Air Force has taken the decision to cancel the flights of the SAAB 340B fleet.

The maintenance plan, documentation that also sold at AR$ 466,560 the Fairbrook contractor, winner of the tender, included the Service Bulletin with the detail that in 2016 (10 years after the last inspection) should begin tasks of overhaul the train of landing of the 4 aircraft. This inspection is vital, it involves a critical system, it includes the replacement of all the pieces that indicate the safety standards, although at the time of the revision they are in good condition.

The Technical Group of the IX Air Brigade with a seat in Comodoro Rivadavia, which at that time was commanded by Commodore Mario Molina, did not comply with the Service Bulletin regarding the internal inspections of the airline. The devices continued in flight exceeding two years the term of the safety check established by the manufacturer. «God is a pilot» said technical sources of the brigade who discovered weeks ago the serious oversight in the maintenance plan of the SAAB. To the apurones Amrein ordered an official management before the Swedish group SAAB with the purpose of obtaining that the manufacturer extends a little more the term for the inspection of useful life that already won.

Resultado de imagen para LADE SAAB 340 pngLADE LÍNEAS AÉREAS HAVE CENTERED OPERATIONS IN THE PATAGONIAN REGION OF ARGENTINA

The serious omission in the SAAB S340B aircraft maintenance plan calls attention to the safety of the flights of the LADE company, Líneas Aéreas Del Estado, bringing to mind the accident of flight 8R5428 of Sol Líneas Aéreas in Patagonia with a SAAB 340A. The lack of maintenance of two SAAB 340B of the LADE company caused the Air Force to cancel the company’s operations.

The only aircraft in use of the four that controlled LADE will be at the Comodoro Rivadavia base, after the C-Check inspection established by the manufacturer for the landing gear assembly was not met. The set of SAAB S340B airplanes should have been revised and subjected to maintenance in 2016, when the tenth anniversary of the last inspection was completed. However, that did not happen and now they were given commercial d ebaja.

Sources of the aeronautical business sector consulted doubt that SAAB could violate a term that is clearly more than exceeded, especially in the case of a vital mechanism for the safety of the aircraft, crew and passengers. Doing so would imply that he assumes responsibility for any incident that could occur due to landing gear failures. The alternative that is studied is that the inspection of useful life takes place in the Material Area Río Cuarto, the workshop of the institution that deals with maintaining aircraft. The SAAB manufacturer must be authorized and certified beforehand, which also involves the payment of money and time for the training of technicians.

The SAAB 340B were acquired in 2008 during the defense of Nilda Garré, had a cost of US$ 30 million, and currently linked Comodoro Rivadavia, Río Gallegos and Río Grande. By the decision of the Air Force, the mayor of Rio Grande, Gustavo Melella, made a formal complaint, requesting that the company reconsider the decision to cancel flights to that city. But not getting an official response, decided to meet yesterday with the authorities of the Ministry of Defense.

The striking thing is that while the deadline for maintenance was due, LADE, in mid-2016, announced in parallel a Program for the Reactivation of Routes to serve destinations in Patagonia and the north of the country. The objective was «to link the localities together so that Buenos Aires should not necessarily be the pivot or linking node and empower them for their individual development». The reactivation of the traditional Patagonian routes contemplated uniting cities of the provinces of Buenos Aires, Chubut, Neuquén, Rio Negro, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, with the City of Buenos Aires. Everything seems to have been in good intentions. A \ W
