German investment company Dr Peters Group said on Tuesday that the two floors could be scrapped to recover engines and other spare parts worth at least US$ 100 million (€ 85.4 million) per aircraft if second-hand aircraft operators of passengers could not be found in the coming months.
The group based in Dortmund, Germany, owns four A380s that will be returned between October and June by Singapore Airlines (SQ) after the expiration of 10-year leases. «After extensive and intense negotiations with several airlines such as British Airways, HiFly and Iran Air, Dr Peters Group decided to sell the components of the aircraft and will recommend this approach to its investors», the company said in a statement.
