Pruebas de vuelo a gran altura del avión chino ARJ21-700
Xining, China · El ARJ21-700, el primer avión regional de fabricación china, ha llevado a cabo con éxito una serie de vuelos de prueba a gran altura en la región de la meseta Qinghai-Tíbet, según fuentes oficiales que recoge la agencia Xinhua.
El avión, construido por la Compañía de Aviones Comerciales de China (COMAC), es un bimotor con capacidad para entre 78 y 90 pasajeros y un alcance de vuelo de entre 2.225 y 3.700 kilómetros.
El vuelo inaugural se llevó a cabo en 2008. Actualmente hay dos ARJ21-700 prestando servicio comercial entre Shanghai y la ciudad suroccidental de Chengdu.
Entre el 28 de febrero y comienzos de marzo, el avión completó exitosamente 16 vuelos de prueba en un aeropuerto de la ciudad de Xining, en la provincia noroccidental de Qinghai, localizada a unos 2.200 metros de altitud, con lo que el aparato demostró que es apto para volar con seguridad hacia y desde la meseta.
El ARJ21 aún debe superar numerosas y difíciles pruebas antes de ser puesto a operar oficialmente en regiones de gran altura sobre el nivel del mar, dijo a Xinhua un funcionario del Departamento Regional del Noroeste de la Administración de Aviación Civil de China.
Los suaves despegues y aterrizajes realizados por el avión confirmaron su buen desempeño en la altiplanicie y la COMAC planea iniciar operaciones comerciales en Qinghai después de completar una nueva serie de pruebas, que están planeadas para la segunda mitad de este año. 
High-Flight Testing of Chinese Aircraft ARJ21-700
Xining, China · The ARJ21-700, the first Chinese-made regional aircraft, has successfully conducted a series of high-altitude test flights in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region, according to official Xinhua sources.
The aircraft, built by the China Commercial Aircraft Company (COMAC), is a twin engine with a capacity of between 78 and 90 passengers and a flight range of between 2,225 and 3,700 kilometers.
The inaugural flight was carried out in 2008. There are currently two ARJ21-700 providing commercial service between Shanghai and the southwestern city of Chengdu.
Between February 28 and early March, the aircraft successfully completed 16 test flights at an airport in Xining City, in the northwestern province of Qinghai, located at about 2,200 meters above sea level, demonstrating that it is Able to fly safely to and from the plateau.
The ARJ21 has yet to overcome numerous difficult tests before being officially operated in regions high above sea level, an official from the Northwest Regional Department of China’s Civil Aviation Administration told Xinhua.
The smooth take-offs and landings made by the aircraft confirmed its good performance in the upland and COMAC plans to start commercial operations in Qinghai after completing a new series of tests, which are planned for the second half of this year. A\W
