Las autoridades de aviación civil de nueve naciones y organismos internacionales se unen para revisión del 737 MAX

Países como Australia, China, Japón y la Unión Europea, han confirmado que se unirán a la llamada Revisión Técnica de Autoridades Conjuntas para el Boeing 737 MAX, que comienza el 29 Abril 2019. Un equipo de expertos internacionales se reunirá para una revisión del Boeing 737 MAX para verificar las correcciones al sistema de vuelo automatizado de la aeronave.

La Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) creó el equipo de revisión a principios de Abril 2019, que cuenta con participantes de la NASA, la FAA, NTSB y otras autoridades, presidido por Chris Hart, ex jefe de la Junta Nacional de Seguridad del Transporte.

El Boeing 737-8 MAX fue el mismo tipo de aeronave involucrada en los dos accidentes fatales en 29 Octubre 2018 en Indonesia y el 10 Marzo 2019 en Etiopía. Cientos de pasajeros y tripulantes murieron en los accidentes. Desde los accidentes, las autoridades de todo el mundo ordenaron que la aeronave fuera a tierra, y las aerolíneas, como American Airlines, cancelaron vuelos con los aviones hasta el verano.

El equipo de revisión «realizará una revisión exhaustiva de la certificación del sistema de control de vuelo automatizado de la aeronave» (MCAS), dijo la FAA.
