Avanzan trámites ante Justicia EEUU para conformar sinergia

Tras la oferta presentada por parte de la aerolínea JetBlue Airways para colocar una intención de fusión con Spirit Airlines, la compañía Frontier Airlines continúa presentando avales con documentos solicitados por el Departamento de Justicia (DOJ) de los Estados Unidos, entidad encargada de dictaminar el impacto de la fusión para el mercado aéreo de Estados Unidos.

Spirit Airlines está comprometida con los términos y condiciones del acuerdo con Frontier y seguirá facilitando la información al DOJ de manera voluntaria. El pasado Miércoles 13/04 el DOJ hizo una segunda solicitud de información a las dos aerolíneas. Aunque la fusión solo tendría que esperar la aprobación del Departamento de Justicia, ahora tienen la oferta de Jetblue Airways en medio. Sin embargo, el CEO de Spirit Airlines, Ted Christie, ha publicado en su sitio de internet información de la fusión, con respuestas sugeridas para resolver dudas de los miembros del equipo. Tras la oferta de compra de Jetblue a Spirit, el CEO de Frontier Airlines, Barry Biffle, confirmó en su momento que la fusión con Spirit lleva un proceso normal ante los entes reguladores y no ven hasta el momento ningún desafío legislativo para la fusión. “Hemos iniciado el proceso y es un proceso muy normal hasta ahora. Esto tomará hasta fin de año para completarse. Tienen preguntas y nos ocuparemos de ellas a su debido tiempo. Aún no ha escuchado ningún comentario que sugiera un desafío legislativo a la fusión”, expresó Barry Biffle. Así mismo, se refirió a la solicitud de los Senadores Elizabeth Warren y Bernie Sanders y otros miembros del Congreso de Estados Unidos, para examinar la posible fusión. “No salieron oponiéndose. Le están pidiendo a la administración que investigue si esto va a aumentar las tarifas para los consumidores. Entiendo su preocupación”, señaló en su momento Barry Biffle.
