El boicot económico occidental hunde a la compañía aérea Aeroflot Russian Airlines, que continúa arrastrando graves problemas por la crisis sanitaria, sumado al bloqueo occidental generado por la guerra en Ucrania. El Gobierno ruso que ha propiciado la guerra en Ucrania, ahora se enfrenta a una dura crisis económica con la aerolínea estatal Aeroflot que ha acudido a pedir un rescate de € 3.000 millones de Euros/₽ 185 mil millones de Rublos, consecuencia del desastre financiero que ha provocado el conflicto bélico en su actividad.
La fórmula para conseguir inyección de efectico ha sido la emisión de 5.420 millones de nuevas acciones, que dejan la antigua participación del estado en la compañía casi sin valor. En realidad, actualmente Aeroflot casi no posee un valor real dado que apenas está operando en el mercado interior, mientras posee serias dificultades para volar al exterior. En estos momentos, la crisis ha empeorado el panorama también desolador de Aeroflot de principios de año, cuando sólo transportaba dos tercios de los pasajeros de antes de la pandemia. Pero el boicot económico occidental ha sido muy poderoso, cerrando la operación a la Unión Europea, Estados Unidos, Gran Bretaña o Canadá.
Aeroflot, entre otras rutas, había conseguido una presencia significativa en el tráfico entre Europa y Extremo Oriente, usando Moscú como hub. Para entender la potencia que estaba adquiriendo en los mercados, se menciona el contrato publicitario firmado con el Manchester United, que ha sido cancelado. Además, la compañía no puede volar al extranjero con sus aviones Airbus o Boeing, pues podrían ser enajenados por los lessor correspondientes, mientras que la flota constituyen 187 unidades de las que diez podrían volar al exterior sin sufrir penalidades.
