Impacto aeronave contra unidad de bomberos en Lima

Un Airbus A320-200N de LATAM Airlines Chile, con registro CC-BHB realizando el vuelo LA-2213 Lima/LIM—Juliaca/JUL (Perú) con 102 pasajeros y 6 tripulantes, aceleraba para despegar de la Pista 16 del Aeropuerto Internacional Lima aproximadamente a las 15:11L/20:11Z cuando varios camiones de bomberos con luces intermitentes y sirenas sonando cruzaron la pista frente al avión que aceleraba. La tripulación rechazó el despegue a alta velocidad a unos 125 nudos sobre el suelo pero no pudo evitar el contacto con el camión de bomberos # 3, aunque el camión intentó girar a la derecha en dirección a la aeronave. El engranaje principal derecho colapsó causando que la aeronave virara a la derecha hacia el borde derecho de la pista llegando a detenerse parcialmente fuera de la pista a unos 2500 metros/8300 pies por la pista. Un incendio estalló alrededor del motor derecho (PW1127G), todos los ocupantes pudieron evacuar el avión. Cuatro pasajeros recibieron heridas graves y 36 leves. El avión sufrió daños sustanciales, el camión de bomberos fue destruido. La Autoridad Aeroportuaria de Lima informó que todos los pasajeros se encontraban recibiendo la atención de sus equipos. Más tarde, el Jefe de los bomberos agregó, el bombero sobreviviente fue diagnosticado con una fractura como la base de su cráneo, traumatismo craneal severo que incluye moretones del tronco cerebral y trauma facial, las funciones vitales son estables, el compromiso neurológico solo se puede evaluar en un momento posterior. Las próximas 24 horas serán cruciales.

Un informe de ATC indica por escrito que el vehículo de rescate ingresó a la Pista 16 desde el Oeste a la altura de la Calle de Rodaje B sin autorización y chocó con el vuelo LA-2213. Se invocaron procedimientos de emergencia y los vehículos de rescate fueron despejados en la pista para hacer frente al accidente. La pista fue cerrada según el parte del NOTAM.

La Fiscalía local ha abierto una investigación para determinar los hechos y la posible culpabilidad y actualmente está revisando las grabaciones de CCTV.

A raíz del trágico accidente ocurrido en el Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez, diversas aerolíneas comerciales tuvieron que cancelar todos sus vuelos programados desde y hacia Lima, lo que ha generado malestar y confusión de miles de pasajeros nacionales y extranjeros.

Ante este inconveniente, SKY Airline informó que se habían cancelado diez vuelos programados para el Viernes 18/11 que tenían conexiones de salida y llegada desde Lima/LIM con diversas ciudades del Perú y del extranjero. “Debido al accidente se ha dispuesto el cierre del aeropuerto Jorge Chávez hasta la 13:00 horas de mañana 19 de noviembre de 2022, por lo que nuestros vuelos programados se verán afectados, teniendo que ser suspendidos o alternar su aterrizaje en otros terminales aéreos del país”, dijo la aerolínea comercial. Asimismo, SKY señaló que expresan su compromiso con sus pasajeros afectados, a quienes están brindando opciones de reprogramación y flexibilidad. “Les solicitamos contactarnos a través de nuestro chat web y Contact Center (01 391 3600)”, informó la empresa.

La aerolínea JetSMART Airlines expresó sus condolencias y solidaridad frente al accidente registrado esta tarde en el Aeropuerto Lima/Jorge Chávez, el cual cobró la vida de dos miembros del Cuerpo de Bomberos Aeronáuticos de Lima Airport Partners (LAP). Manifestó que, siguiendo las indicaciones de las autoridades aeronáuticas, se ha cerrado el aeropuerto el Sábado 19 de Noviembre de 2022 hasta las 13:00 hrs, motivo por el cual han procedido a cancelar todos sus vuelos desde y hacia Lima, sin embargo, no indicaron el número de vuelos cancelados. En tanto, Manuel Van Oordt, CEO de Latam Airlines Perú, en conferencia de prensa, indicó que la aerolínea chilena opera cerca de 200 vuelos diarios en el Perú que provienen desde el extranjero y de diversas ciudades del interior del país.

En cuanto a los vuelos que no pudieron aterrizar en Lima, el ejecutivo dijo que son alrededor de sesenta que fueron desviados a diferentes partes del país y del exterior. Muchos de ellos también aterrizaron en el Aeropuerto Internacional Capitán FAP Renán Elías Olivera/PIO, en Pisco.

“Nuestro plan de contingencia contempla que algunos de nuestros vuelos lleguen a Pisco cuando no pueden aterrizar en Lima. Se van a asumir los gastos de los pasajeros varados y además están ofreciendo flexibilidades para que sus clientes puedan cambiar la fecha de sus vuelos”, dijo el CEO de Latam Airlines Perú.

Esta situación también perjudicó a los vuelos de otros terminales aeroportuarios de Perú que tenían como destino la capital del Perú. El Aeropuerto Internacional Guillermo del Castillo Paredes/TPP de Tarapoto se cancelaron cinco vuelos. En Arequipa, en el Aeropuerto Internacional Alfredo Rodríguez Ballón/AQP se cancelaron seis vuelos que tenían que salir con rumbo a Lima. En Trujillo, en el Aeropuerto Capitán Carlos Martínez de Pinillos/TRU se cancelaron seis vuelos con destino a la capital.

Ante estas inesperadas cancelaciones de vuelos, pasajeros nacionales y extranjeros indicaron que no tienen dónde pasar la noche, y que no tienen dinero para pagar su alimentación por días adicionales.

Defensoría del Pueblo

La Defensoría del Pueblo de Perú solicitó a las aerolíneas informar a través de sus distintos canales de comunicación el lugar donde aterrizarán sus vuelos que se encontraban en tránsito hacia Lima. La institución formuló este pedido tras conocerse que las operaciones en el Aeropuerto Internacional Lima/Jorge Chávez/LIM estarán suspendidas hasta las 13:00 horas del Sábado 19/11, debido al accidente que sufrió un avión de la compañía Latam Airlines Chile. Mediante sus redes sociales, la Defensoría del Pueblo señaló que la información que solicita es de máxima importancia para familiares y allegados de pasajeros que esperan en el Aeropuerto Jorge Chávez.

Two firefighters aboard the truck involved in the collision did not survive, a third firefighter in the truck involved received serious injuries. The airline LATAM Airlines Chile reported that all the occupants of the aircraft survived the accident. There were 102 passengers and 6 crew on board.

The local Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to determine the facts and possible culpability and is currently reviewing the CCTV recordings.
