JetSMART alcanza aprobación colombiana

JetSMART Airlines Group ha recibido la aprobación de la Aeronaútica Civil de Colombia (Aerocivil) para la certificación de JetSMART Airlines Colombia como aerolínea comercial nacional en Colombia. La aerolínea filial colombiana de JetSMART está próxima iniciar su proceso de adecuación par ainiciar operaciones aerocomerciales. Este Martes 07/03 recibió la aprobación de la Aeronáutica Civil para establecer una nueva unidad operativa en Latinoamérica.

El grupo JetSMART había mostrado interés para comprar el 100% de la aerolínea Viva Air Colombia, pero la Aerocivil había comunicado que la compañía no había presentado los avales necesarios para iniciar el proceso de estudio de factibilidad.

“En línea con las regulaciones del país, JetSMART iniciará de inmediato el proceso de certificación. En el contexto actual, la entrada de JetSMART a rutas domésticas en Colombia permitirá aprovechar los slots en el aeropuerto de Bogotá y otras terminales aéreas, manteniendo la conectividad a lo largo y ancho del país y el acceso al transporte aéreo a precios bajos”, detalló la aerolínea JetSMART Airlines.

El permiso de la Aerocivil se traduce en una muestra del compromiso que tiene el Gobierno colombiano por garantizar un mercado aéreo diversificado que fomente la libre competencia y respete los intereses de los usuarios. Según lo explicado por la Aeronáutica Civil, el Comité Evaluador estableció que la aerolínea presente un plan de cumplimiento conforme a la cantidad de aeronaves y rutas que se operarán. “De acuerdo con los Reglamentos Aeronáuticos de Colombia, la empresa, dentro de los tres (3) meses contados a partir de la notificación de la decisión, deberá cumplir con los requisitos dispuestos para el trámite subsiguiente y aportar la documentación correspondiente. Cabe anotar que esta autorización solo constituye un visto bueno para continuar con el proceso que busca obtener el permiso de operación y está sujeta al cumplimiento de los requisitos de ley. Para el inicio de operaciones, la empresa interesada deberá obtener la certificación en un término improrrogable de dos (2) años”, detalló la Aerocivil..

Para el Presidente de JetSMART, Estuardo Ortiz, “es una excelente noticia la aprobación del CEPA y la Aerocivil a nuestra solicitud de ingreso a 27 rutas domésticas, así como el inicio de la certificación de JetSMART como aerolínea colombiana. Con esto iniciaremos de inmediato el proceso y trabajaremos de la mano de la Aerocivil para poder cumplir con todos los requisitos en el menor tiempo posible”. El directivo asegura que buscarán aumentar la conectividad en Colombia, amén de sumar más vuelos a precios bajos, valiéndose de la experiencia que ya han acumulado en Chile, Perú y Argentina, en donde ya han movilizado a más de 18 millones de pasajeros.. Dentro de los destinos nacionales a los que busca llegar se encuentran Bogotá, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Medellín, Cúcuta, Montería, Pereira, Pasto, San Andrés y Santa Marta.

“Nuestro modelo de negocio está enfocado en llevar los servicios de viaje aéreo a todos los colombianos a través de una operación puntual, confiable y por pocos pesos. Hemos sido elegidos la mejor low cost de Suramérica y queremos llevar este servicio a Colombia, donde la geografía y la falta de una adecuada red vial hacen que el transporte aéreo resulte esencial para la movilización de las personas”, añadió Estuardo Ortiz.

Tras la luz verde de la Aerocivil, la aerolínea será objeto de un proceso de certificación como operador aéreo al interior del país. Posteriormente, la aerolínea adelantará unas visitas de inspección técnica a los aeropuertos de las ciudades mencionadas, con el fin de asegurar los recursos técnicos y humanos que necesitarán para su operación.

Aerocivil’s permission translates into a sample of the Colombian government’s commitment to guarantee a diversified air market that fosters free competition and respects the interests of users. As explained by civil aeronautics, the evaluation committee established that the airline has a compliance plan in accordance with the number of aircraft and routes that will be operated. “According to the aeronautical regulations of Colombia, the company, within three (3) months from the notification of the decision, must meet the requirements arranged for the subsequent procedure and provide the corresponding documentation. It should be noted that this authorization is only an approval to continue with the process that seeks to obtain the operation permit and is subject to compliance with the requirements of law. For the start of operations, the interested company must obtain the certification in a non extendable term of two (2) years”, said the Aerocivil.
