La aerolínea Gran Colombia de Aviación comenzaría sus operaciones a mitad de 2018
La compañía colombiana Gran Colombia Aviación SAS tiene previsto el inicio de sus operaciones entre Junio y Julio de 2018. La aerolínea de capitales venezolanos tendrá su hub de operaciones la ciudad de Cali, Colombia. Gran Colombia de Aviación forma parte del grupo empresarial Avior, una de las aerolíneas bandera de Venezuela y tiene previsto operar 27 rutas desde Cali e Ibagué.
La firma venezolana Avior Airlines Colombia bajo el nombre de Gran Colombia de Aviación, la nueva empresa de aviación se registró en la cámara de comercio de Ibagué, de igual manera, ante la Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia se solicitaron los permisos para operar varias rutas tanto nacionales como internacionales. La solicitud fue hecha ante la Aerocivil el día 30 de Agosto 2017, fecha en la cual la autoridad aeronáutica aprobó la constitución de la empresa de aviación y la casi totalidad de sus rutas. En principio, en la solicitud elevada ante la Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia se concebía a Ibagué como la base de la aerolínea, pero debido a los retrasos en las obras de modernización del Aeropuerto Perales, y entendiendo que ello limitaba el avance para la certificación de la base y de la aerolínea, se optó por solicitar el traslado al Aeropuerto Internacional Alfonso Bonilla Aragón de Palmira que presta sus servicios a la Ciudad de Santiago de Cali.
Actualmente, se encuentra en proceso de certificación con la Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia. La nueva línea aérea no será una empresa de bajo costo, al parecer llegará al mercado con precios muy competitivos.
Gran Colombia Aviación planea unir destinos nacionales como Cali–Ibagué, Cali–Barrancabermeja, Cali–Florencia y rutas internacionales como Cali–Lima, Cali–Quito, Cali–Miami, Cali–Santiago de Chile, entre otros.

Currently, it is in the process of certification with the Civil Aeronautics of Colombia. The new airline will not be a low-cost company, apparently it will reach the market with very competitive prices.
