Argentina y Estados Unidos amplían el Acuerdo Bilateral de servicios aéreos
Argentina y Estados Unidos han ratificado un nuevo acuerdo bilateral de servicios de transporte aéreo que data de 1985 que eliminó inmediatamente las restricciones de reciprocidad previamente establecidas. La nueva enmienda entre la Secretaría de Transporte de Estados Unidos y el Ministerio de Transporte de Argentina liberalizarán un tope de asignaciones de vuelos entre Estados Unidos y Argentina y viceversa, operando rutas y frecuencias ilimitadas entre ambos países contando con cualquier transportista autorizado.
El acuerdo avanza en otros temas importantes, como normas de seguridad operacional, actividades de manejo en tierra, ventas y gastos en moneda local, conversión y remisión de ingresos, así como la autorización para realizar el código compartido, espacios bloqueados o acuerdos de arrendamiento.
El nuevo acuerdo también facilita las asociaciones de operadores argentinos con operadores estadounidenses. Las aerolíneas buscarán nuevos acuerdos simplificando procedimientos, exenciones para su aprobación ante las autoridades de los Estados Unidos.
Cumbre de las Américas 2019
La firma se realizó en el marco de la visita oficial del Ministro de Transporte Guillermo Dietrich a los Estados Unidos, así como de la Cumbre de Transporte de las Américas, un evento internacional que reúne a representantes de los sectores del transporte público y privado en Washington. La cumbre también incluye autoridades y funcionarios de organizaciones y departamentos de otros países y organizaciones multilaterales, entre otras instituciones. “En Argentina, el mercado comercial está creciendo y lo estamos acompañando fuertemente con inversiones, que a su vez hacen que más y más países confíen en nosotros y amplíen las conexiones entre nuestras ciudades y el resto del mundo, en este caso con Estados Unidos. Estados”, expresó Dietrich.
Actualmente, existen 7 rutas entre ambos países, la mayoría de las cuales son operadas por aerolíneas estadounidenses, incluidas American Airlines, United Airlines y Delta Air Lines. Aunque típicamente se centra en Buenos Aires con rutas entre la capital y Nueva York, Dallas, Miami, Los Ángeles, Atlanta y Houston, las ciudades secundarias como Córdoba también ven conexiones a los Estados Unidos con servicio a Miami. En total, todas las conexiones suman 84 frecuencias semanales entre los dos países, menos de la mitad operada por Aerolíneas Argentinas, la aerolínea de bandera de la República Argentina.
La aerolínea de bajo costo JetSmart Airlines anunció recientemente que incorporará el Airbus A321XLR de cuerpo estrecho de larga distancia, que tiene el alcance para llegar a los Estados Unidos desde Argentina, y JetBlue Airways manifestó hace un tiempo la intención de llegar a Argentina. Mientras que JetBlue se concentra actualmente en Europa, con un servicio recientemente anunciado a Londres, la aerolínea se está expandiendo a Sudamérica con nuevos servicios a Ecuador y Guyana desde Nueva York en aviones de la familia Airbus A320CEO/NEO.

Argentina and the United States expand the Bilateral Air Services Agreement
Argentina and the United States have ratified a new bilateral agreement on air transport services dating from 1985 that immediately eliminated previously established reciprocity restrictions. The new amendment between the Secretariat of Transportation of the United States and the Ministry of Transportation of Argentina will liberalize a cap on assignments of flights between the United States and Argentina and vice versa, operating routes and unlimited frequencies between both countries, with any authorized carrier.

The new agreement also facilitates the associations of Argentine operators with US operators. The airlines will seek new agreements simplifying procedures, exemptions for their approval before the authorities of the United States.
