SkyUp Airlines ocupa séptimo lugar entre las aerolíneas de más rápido crecimiento en Europa
La aerolínea de bajo costo ucraniana SkyUp Airlines se ha convertido en la séptima aerolínea de más rápido crecimiento en Europa en términos de crecimiento de la red en 2018-2019, según el último informe de Anker.
Ryanair, una aerolínea irlandesa de bajo costo, ocupó el primer lugar en el ranking, ya que supuestamente agregó 417 nuevos destinos a su agenda, incluidos 40 de Ucrania. Air France quedó en segundo lugar con 192 nuevos destinos. SkyUp Airlines ranks seventh among the fastest growing airlines in Europe
The Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp Airlines has become the seventh fastest-growing airline in Europe in terms of network growth in 2018-2019, according to Anker’s latest report.
Ryanair, an Irish low-cost airline, ranked first, as it supposedly added 417 new destinations to its agenda, including 40 from Ukraine. Air France was in second place with 192 new destinations. WizzAir, a low-cost Eastern European airline popular with Ukrainians, ranked third in the ranking, launching 121 new flights.
SkyUp comes right behind EasyJet, a low-cost British airline, with 93 new routes from Ukraine. The report refers to SkyUp as an impressive newcomer and compares the new airline with famous low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and WizzAir, both popular airlines within Ukraine.
In addition to being one of the fastest-growing airlines, the Anker Report also classifies SkyUp as one of the airlines that have had the greatest effect at airports where they had not previously worked. The report places SkyUp on its list of bigger new bases for airlines in 2019. Leading the way is Ryanair at London’s Southend Airport, with 2,231 flights in 2019. Then comes LOT Polish Airlines at London City Airport with 1,536 flights, followed by the new WizzAir base in Krakow, adding 1,415. At number four is SkyUp, which added 1,362 flights to Kyiv Boryspil airport.
The launch of SkyUp was first announced in December 2017. Ticket sales for the airline began in April 2018. The company began operating on May 21, 2018, with cheap flights from Kyiv’s Zhuliany Airport to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, A popular holiday destination for Ukrainians.
In 3Q2019, the airline moved its main base to Boryspil Airport, the largest international airport in Ukraine. The airline offers cheap flights to popular summer destinations such as Barcelona, Spain and Tenerife, the Canary Islands, and recently announced on Facebook a list of direct flights to destinations that were previously only available through connecting flights. These include direct flights to the Greek islands Heraklion (island of Crete), Corfu and Zakynthos.
