EasyJet ordena más aeronaves A320NEO
La compañía aérea británica low cost EasyJet dijo que firmó acuerdos condicionales con Airbus Group, en virtud de los cuales el constructor europeo acordó suministrar 56 aviones de la familia A320NEO para su entrega entre 2026 y 2029. La compañía declaró que la compra propuesta completaría sustancialmente el Acuerdo de Airbus de 2013 con Airbus, al tiempo que aseguraría espacios de entrega entre 2026 y 2029 para reemplazar los aviones que abandonan la flota.
La compañía también ha celebrado acuerdos condicionales con CFM International para garantizar que los compromisos asumidos en virtud del actual acuerdo de suministro de motores entre la compañía y CFM cubran los aviones entregados en virtud de la Enmienda Airbus.

British low-cost airline EasyJet said it had signed conditional agreements with Airbus Group, under which the European manufacturer agreed to supply 56 A320NEO family aircraft for delivery between 2026 and 2029. The British budget airline is advancing an agreement with Airbus Group as part of the upgrade of its fleet of narrowbodies aircraft. EasyJet plc said it has entered into conditional agreements with Airbus, under which Airbus has agreed to supply fifty-six A320NEO family aircraft for delivery between 2026 and 2029, using purchase options and purchase rights under the existing contract with Airbus. In addition, the company is proposing to convert 18 A320NEO aircraft planned for delivery between 2024 and 2027 to 18 A321NEO aircraft deliveries. The company stated that the proposed purchase would substantially complete Airbus’ 2013 Agreement with Airbus, while also securing delivery slots between 2026 and 2029 to replace aircraft leaving the fleet.
The company has also entered into conditional agreements with CFM International to ensure that commitments made under the current engine supply agreement between the company and CFM cover aircraft delivered under the Airbus Amendment.
Johan Lundgren, EasyJet’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “The proposed purchase strengthens our orders with Airbus between FY2026 and FY2029, continuing to upgrade the company’s fleet, as older A319s and A320s are leaving the airline and the new A320 and A321 neo aircraft are coming in, providing benefits to easyJet through measurement, cost efficiencies and sustainability improvements. We believe this will support positive returns for the business and delivery of our strategic objectives”.
