Vuelo L5-203 aterriza emergencia Aeropuerto Miami/MIA
Un McDonnell Douglas MD-82 de Red Air Dominicana, matrícula HI1064 realizando el vuelo L5-203 de Santo Domingo (República Dominicana) a Miami, Florida (Estados Unidos) con 126 personas a bordo, aterrizó en la Pista 09 de Miami a las 17:37L (21:37Z) manteniendo la comunicación rutinaria pero sufrió el colapso de su tren de aterrizaje. La Torre de Control (TWR) presionó el botón de choque e instruyó a los siguientes acercamientos para que dieran la vuelta. El MD-82 se quedó parado fuera de la pista con un incendio en el ala derecha, donde se produjo un derrame de combustible. El avión fue evacuado a través de toboganes. Tres personas recibieron heridas leves y fueron trasladadas al hospital. Los servicios de emergencia extinguieron rápidamente el incendio.
Los Servicios de Emergencia de Miami informaron que están en la escena de un incendio de aeronave, sus tripulaciones han podido controlar el incendio en el ala izquierda y mitigar el derrame de combustible. Todas las personas a bordo fueron revisadas en busca de lesiones, tres han sido hospitalizadas.
Los datos transmitidos ADS-B por la aeronave sugieren que la aeronave estaba en la línea central de la pista hasta que disminuyó la velocidad por debajo de los 80 nudos sobre el suelo, luego se desvió a la izquierda, cruzó el verde entre las pistas 09/27 y 12/30 y las calles de rodaje T8 y T tomando el mástil de antena de pendiente de planeo para la pista 30 con él y se detuvo justo antes de la pista 12/30.
Las imágenes de noticias de televisión mostraron que el avión parecía haber descansado en la hierba al lado de una pista, y que el avión y un área a su alrededor aparentemente estaban rociados con productos químicos de bomberos blancos. Al menos tres vehículos de extinción de incendios se colocaron cerca. Miami International estaba experimentando algunos retrasos en los vuelos el martes por la noche, dijeron funcionarios del aeropuerto en un tweet, y agregaron que los pasajeros recibieron instrucciones de consultar con las aerolíneas para obtener detalles. El tweet agregó que el colapso del tren de aterrizaje delantero en la nariz de la aeronave parecía ser la causa del incendio.
La aerolínea Red Air informó que la aeronave encontró dificultades técnicas después del aterrizaje. Red Air es una de las aerolíneas más nueva de República Dominicana. La compañía tiene su sede en Santo Domingo inició operaciones en 2Q2021.
La Junta Nacional de Seguridad en el Transporte (NTSB) publicó que un equipo llegaría al aeropuerto el Miércoles 22/06 para investigar el accidente en el Aeropuerto Miami/MIA.

A Red Air Dominicana McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration HI1064, on flight L5-203 from Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) to Miami, Florida (United States) with 126 people on board, landed on Runway 09 in Miami at 5:00 p.m. :37L (21:37Z) maintaining routine communication but suffered a collapsed landing gear. The Control Tower (TWR) pressed the shock button and instructed the following approaches to turn around. The MD-82 stalled off the runway with a fire on the right wing, where a fuel spill occurred. The aircraft was evacuated via slides. Three people received minor injuries and were taken to hospital. Emergency services quickly extinguished the fire.
Miami Emergency Services reported that they are on the scene of an aircraft fire, their crews have been able to control the fire on the left wing and mitigate the fuel spill. All people on board were checked for injuries, three have been hospitalized.
ADS-B data transmitted by the aircraft suggests that the aircraft was on the runway centerline until it slowed below 80 knots over the ground, then veered left, crossed the green between runways 09 /27 and 12/30 and taxiways T8 and T taking the glide slope antenna mast for runway 30 with it and stopped just short of runway 12/30.
Television news footage showed that the plane appeared to have rested on grass beside a runway, and that the plane and an area around it were apparently sprayed with white fire chemicals. At least three firefighting vehicles were positioned nearby. Miami International was experiencing some flight delays Tuesday night, airport officials said in a tweet, adding that passengers were instructed to check with airlines for details. The tweet added that the collapse of the front landing gear in the nose of the aircraft appeared to be the cause of the fire.
The Red Air airline reported that the aircraft encountered technical difficulties after landing. Red Air is one of the newest airlines in the Dominican Republic. The company is based in Santo Domingo and started operations in 2Q2021.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) published that a team would arrive at the airport on Wednesday 06/22 to investigate the accident at Miami/MIA Airport.
