Solicitud autorización a FNE Chile para capitalización
American Airlines ingresaría como socio minoritario

JetSMART Airlines Group ha solicitado inversión de American Airlines para crecer en Latinoamérica. Tras los anuncios por parte de la aerolínea americana hace más de un año acerca de una inversión en JetSMART para facilitar su crecimiento en Latinoamérica, ahora ambas aerolíneas han solicitado a la Fiscalía Nacional Económica (FNE) de Chile revisar sus antecedentes, pues American entraría como socio minoritario de JetSMART Airlines.

El fondo de inversión estadounidense Indigo Partners LLC es una firma estadounidense de capital privado que tiene una participación mayoritaria en Frontier Airlines y la chilena de bajo costo JetSMART Airlines, además de tener participaciones en la aerolínea mexicana de bajo costo Volaris Airlines y la aerolínea húngara Wizzair, como así también ha fundado una aerolínea de presupuesto en Canadá denominada LynxAir.

American-JetSMART presentaron una solicitud de operación de concentración consistente para la adquisición por parte de American Airlines de una participación minoritaria en JetSMART Airlines Group. El organismo de la FNE ha trazado la investigación respectiva para dar autorización o denegar la aprobación de la alianza accionaria. La FNE es responsable de defender y promover la competencia en todos los mercados o sectores productivos de la economía chilena.

JetSMART Airlines Group has requested investment from American Airlines to grow in Latin America. After the announcements by the American airline more than a year ago about an investment in JetSMART to facilitate its growth in Latin America, now both airlines have requested the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) of Chile to review their background, since American would enter as minority partner of JetSMART Airlines.

The American investment fund Indigo Partners LLC is an American private equity firm that has a majority stake in Frontier Airlines and the Chilean low-cost JetSMART Airlines, in addition to having interests in the Mexican low-cost airline Volaris Airlines and the Hungarian airline Wizzair, as well as he has also founded a budget airline in Canada called LynxAir.

American-JetSMART filed a merger request consisting of the acquisition by American Airlines of a minority interest in JetSMART Airlines Group. The FNE body has drawn up the respective investigation to authorize or deny the approval of the shareholding alliance. The FNE is responsible for defending and promoting competition in all markets or productive sectors of the Chilean economy.
