South African Airways restablece conexión a Windhoek

South African Airways (SAA) a restablecido sus operaciones en Namibia al Aeropuerto Internacional Hosea Kutako/WDH, a medida que se revitaliza la industria de la aviación. SAA ofrecerá dos frecuencias diarias (2Frq/D) Johannesburgo/JNB—Windhoek. La Compañía de Aeropuertos de Namibia (NAC) ha dado la bienvenida a la aerolíneas tras un proceso de retracción de mercado generado por la crisis sanitaria mundial.

South African Airways aterrizó el Jueves 08/12, tras haber abandonado el país por última vez en Marzo de 2019 y con su regreso se unirá a otras aerolíneas que hacen escala en WDH que incluyen, Qatar Airways, TAAG Angola Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Eurowings, Air Link y FlyNamibia Airline. “En NAC estamos entusiasmados con el regreso de SAA porque significa más opciones para visitantes y viajeros”, dijo Dan Kamati, Director de NAC.

Dando la bienvenida al desarrollo, el Viceministro de Transporte de Namibia, Veikko Nekundi, dijo en un comunicado que el relanzamiento del servicio de SAA entre Windhoek y Johannesburgo fortalecerá el comercio y el turismo al tiempo que fomentará los lazos existentes en todos los frentes. “Namibia forma parte del Mercado Único Africano de Transporte Aéreo (SAATM); una iniciativa de la Unión Africana para crear un mercado único unificado de transporte aéreo en África a fin de promover la liberalización de la aviación civil en África y dar un impulso al programa de integración económica del continente. SAATM garantizará que la aviación desempeñe su papel en la conexión de África, promoviendo su integración social, económica y política, e impulsando el comercio intra-africano”, dijo Veikko Nekundi.

La perspectiva de SAA tiene previsto introducir nuevas rutas a las Cataratas Victoria en Zimbabwe, y un horario especial para Ggeberha desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de Johannesburgo/OR Tambo/JNB.

South African Airways (SAA) has reestablished its operations in Namibia at Hosea Kutako International Airport/WDH, as the aviation industry is revitalized. SAA will offer two daily frequencies (2Frq/D) Johannesburg/JNB—Windhoek. The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has welcomed the airlines after a process of market retraction generated by the global health crisis.

South African Airways landed on Thursday 08/12, having last left the country in March 2019 and upon its return will join other airlines that call at WDH including Qatar Airways, TAAG Angola Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Eurowings, Air Link and FlyNamibia Airline. “We at NAC are excited about the return of SAA because it means more options for visitors and travelers”, said Dan Kamati, Director of NAC.

Welcoming the development, Namibian Deputy Transport Minister Veikko Nekundi said in a statement that the relaunch of SAA’s service between Windhoek and Johannesburg will strengthen trade and tourism while fostering existing ties on all fronts. “Namibia is part of the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM); an initiative of the African Union to create a single unified air transport market in Africa in order to promote the liberalization of civil aviation in Africa and give impetus to the program of economic integration of the continent. SAATM will ensure that aviation plays its role in connecting Africa, promoting its social, economic and political integration, and boosting intra-African trade”, said Veikko Nekundi.

The SAA outlook plans to introduce new routes to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and a special schedule for Ggeberha from Johannesburg International Airport/OR Tambo/JNB.
