La compañía irlandesa Ryanair poseerá el 75% de la aerolínea austríaca Laudamotion, que comenzará a volar el 25 de Marzo 2018
La aerolínea irlandesa lowcost Ryanair ha comprado el 24,9% de Laudamotion, la compañía surgida de la quebrada Niki, como primera fase de una adquisición que llegará al 75%, siempre y cuando obtenga la luz verde de Bruselas, informó hoy Laudamotion en un comunicado.
El precio acordado por la mayoría de dos tercios de la propiedad de la nueva aerolínea se situará por debajo de los 50 millones de euros, si bien Ryanair invertirá en el primer año otros 50 millones de euros para cubrir los costes de lanzamiento de la compañía, precisa la nota.
La adquisición está aún sujeta al visto bueno de los órganos de supervisión de la competencia de la Unión Europea (UE). «Ryanair apoya el plan de Laudamotion de crecer y desarrollarse como línea aérea austríaca con sede en Viena», añade el comunicado.
El anuncio se produce pocos días después de que el austríaco Niki Lauda, comprador de la insolvente Niki que pertenecía a la germana Air Berlin, también quebrada, presentara en rueda de prensa en Viena los planes de su nueva empresa.
Laudamotion comenzará a volar el 25 de Marzo 2018 con seis aviones y aumentará esa flota hasta veintiún aparatos con destinos a España, Italia y Grecia. Lauda adquirió a Niki, empresa que él fundó y vendió luego a la alemana Air Berlin, después de que esas dos aerolíneas dejaran de operar. El proceso de insolvencia de Niki, que se declaró en quiebra en diciembre pasado, concluyó el 28 de Febrero 2018.
Según la prensa austríaca, la oferta que pagó Lauda por la empresa, en torno a los 50 millones de euros, superó en su momento a la de otros interesados, entre ellos el grupo hispano-británico de aviación IAG. De 69 años, Lauda presidirá la junta directiva de Laudamotion, asegura el comunicado.

The lowcost Irish airline Ryanair has bought 24.9% of Laudamotion, the company that emerged from the Niki creek, as the first phase of an acquisition that will reach 75%, as long as it obtains the green light from Brussels, Laudamotion reported today in a release.
The price agreed by the two-thirds majority of ownership of the new airline will be below 50 million euros, although Ryanair will invest another 50 million euros in the first year to cover the costs of launching the company, precise the note.
The acquisition is still subject to the approval of the supervisory bodies of the competence of the European Union (EU). «Ryanair supports Laudamotion’s plan to grow and develop as an Austrian airline based in Vienna», the statement added.
The announcement comes a few days after the Austrian Niki Lauda, buyer of the insolvent Niki that belonged to the German Air Berlin, also bankrupt, presented at a press conference in Vienna the plans of his new company.
Laudamotion will start flying on March 25, 2018 with six aircraft and will increase that fleet to twenty-one aircraft with destinations to Spain, Italy and Greece. Lauda acquired Niki, a company that he founded and then sold to Germany’s Air Berlin, after those two airlines stopped operating. Niki’s insolvency proceedings, which went bankrupt last December, ended on February 28, 2018.
According to the Austrian press, the offer that Lauda paid for the company, around 50 million euros, surpassed at the time other interested, among them the Spanish-British aviation group IAG. Aged 69, Lauda will chair the board of directors of Laudamotion, the statement said. A \ W
