La aerolínea de Turquía Pegasus Airlines recibe incentivos por € 4.500 millones de euros para inversiones

La compañía aérea low cost de Turquía, Pegasus Airlines que el año pasado incrementó sus pasajeros en un 15%, ha recibido incentivos del gobierno por casi € 4.500 millones de euros (22.120 millones de liras turcas) para invertir en la compra de 167 nuevas aeronaves, según publicó el lunes el Boletín Oficial de la República.

Los incentivos a la inversión estarán exentos de tarifas de aduanas e incluyen reducciones de impuestos del 90% durante un plazo de 7 años. Pegasus que tiene su base en el aeropuerto asiático de Sabiha Gökçen, en Estambul, transportó durante 2017 a 27,8 millones de pasajeros, un 15,2% más en comparación con el año precedente. Concretamente el número de pasajeros en vuelos domésticos creció un 10,5% hasta sumar 16,89 millones, mientras que el de vuelos internacionales aumentó en un 21,7% hasta totalizar 10,45 millones de viajeros. El factor de carga de la aerolínea creció en 2017 un 6,1% en relación a 2016, hasta alcanzar el 84,6%. En conjunto Pegasus registró durante el año pasado unos beneficios netos de 501,1 millones de liras -101 millones de euros- tras haber tenido en 2016 pérdidas por 136,2 millones de liras (27,5 millones de euros) a causa de factores como el desplome en la llegada de turistas a Turquía.

Specifically, the number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 10.5% to reach 16.89 million, while the number of international flights increased by 21.7% to total 10.45 million passengers. The airline’s load factor grew by 6.1% in 2017 compared to 2016, reaching 84.6%. Overall, Pegasus registered net profits of 501.1 million lire -101 million euros last year-after having losses in 2016 of 136.2 million lire (27.5 million euros) due to factors such as the collapse in the arrival of tourists to Turkey.
