Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation está próximo a la finalización del Programa MRJ-90 hacia la fase final de la Certificación Tipo para el primer avión jet comercial de Japón.

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation anunció hoy que recibió la Autorización de Inspección de Tipo (TIA) de la Oficina de Aviación Civil de Japón (JCAB) para El programa Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) de la compañía. Esta autorización permite a Mitsubishi Aircraft comenzar las pruebas de certificación de vuelo para su MRJ-90, el único diseño de hoja limpia de la industria, el avión regional y el primer avión comercial de Japón. El Programa MRJ actualmente tiene una flota de aeronaves de prueba de vuelo en su centro de pruebas de vuelo en Moses Lake, Washington, Estados Unidos. Espera comenzar las pruebas de certificación en vuelo a principios de 2019.

Según Andrew Telesca, Jefe de la Oficina de Gestión de Certificación de Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, debido a la situación única de la industria de la aviación comercial en Japón, el camino para recibir esta autorización ha sido diferente a cualquier otro en el mundo. «Con poca prioridad para un programa de este tipo en Japón, los equipos han trabajado juntos incansablemente para establecer un sistema de cumplimiento de pruebas de vuelo desde cero. Estoy orgulloso de los esfuerzos sustanciales realizados por los equipos de JCAB y MITAC para lograr este hito crítico. Si bien queda mucho por hacer para alcanzar la Certificación de Tipo, nos complace haber completado una demostración clave de la seguridad y madurez del programa MRJ y esperamos trabajar estrechamente con el JCAB durante esta fase crítica del programa final», explica Telesca.

El programa se encuentra en una revisión de seguridad de la Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA) para respaldar la Carta de Autorización de la FAA, que espera antes del inicio de las pruebas de certificación en vuelo.

He expects to begin certification tests in flight at the beginning of 2019.
