Real Tonga Airlines y Nauru Airlines acuerdan operar nuevos vuelos internacionales
Real Tonga Airlines Limited y Nauru Airlines anunciaron hoy 13 Junio 2019 un acuerdo para iniciar operaciones en conjunto con vuelos a Fiji y Nueva Zelanda con dos frecuencias semanales desde Tonga. La nueva ruta 
asignada comenzará a operar a partir de Noviembre 2019.
El nuevo acuerdo ente las aerolíneas del Pacífico permitirán la posibilidad de realizar un contrato de arrendamiento wetlease de aeronaves acordes a la ruta. Nauru Airlines proporcionará a Real Tonga Airlines aviones con tripulación para estos vuelos.
Sujeto a la obtención de todas las aprobaciones gubernamentales y reglamentarias necesarias, las aerolíneas anticipan que los servicios comenzarán en Noviembre de 2019. El programa inicial de vuelos incluirá vuelos de ida y vuelta dos veces por semana desde Tonga a Nadi y Auckland, con la intención de aumentar los servicios a tres veces por semana tan pronto como sea posible.
El Gerente de Real Tonga Airlines, Tevita Palu, dijo que el nuevo acuerdo introduce el comienzo de las operaciones internacionales, que han sido atendidas por operadores extranjeros. Actualmente, Tonga ofrece vuelos nacionales en todo Tonga, mientras que Nauru Airlines presta servicios a siete países de Micronesia con cinco aeronaves. Nauru Airlines también celebró su 50º aniversario en Febrero 2019.

Real Tonga Airlines and Nauru Airlines agree to operate new international flights
Real Tonga Airlines Limited and Nauru Airlines announced today 13 June 2019 an agreement to start joint operations with flights to Fiji and New Zealand with two weekly flights from Tonga. The new assigned route will start operating from November 2019.
The new agreement between the Pacific airlines will allow the possibility of making a wetlease lease of aircraft according to the route. Nauru Airlines will provide Royal Tonga Airlines with crewed aircraft for these flights.
Subject to obtaining all necessary governmental and regulatory approvals, airlines anticipate that services will begin in November 2019. The initial flight schedule will include round-trip flights twice a week from Tonga to Nadi and Auckland, with the intent to increase services three times a week as soon as possible.
The Manager of Real Tonga Airlines, Tevita Palu, said that the new agreement introduces the start of international operations, which have been taken care of by foreign operators. This will be the first time in recent years that a local operator will be able to provide these much-needed services and provide an enormous benefit to the Tonga community, through better connectivity and more capacity. These new services will benefit tourism and create new employment opportunities for the local community.
Nauru Airlines President Trevor Jensen said Nauru Airlines is now considered one of the leading airlines in the Pacific. “We are incredibly excited about this new effort and the benefits it will bring to the people of Nauru, Tonga and the Pacific”. Plans are already under way to develop services for Real Tonga elsewhere, including Brisbane and other Australian cities.
