Uganda Airlines comienza operaciones el 28 Agosto 2019

Uganda Airlines iniciará sus operaciones comerciales con el primer vuelo comercial de la compañía programada para el 28 Agosto 2019. La compañía ha comprado dos aeronaves Bombardier CRJ-900 el 23 de Abril 2019, en un intento por revivir a la aerolínea nacional. Pero los dos aviones permanecieron estacionados en la plataforma de estacionamiento del Aeropuerto Internacional de Entebbe a la espera de la autorización del regulador de aviación para comenzar los vuelos comerciales. El certificado de operación aérea se obtuvo el 27 Julio 2019 después de tres meses de pruebas por parte de la Autoridad de Aviación Civil (CAA).

El Aeropuerto Internacional de Entebbe es el principal aeropuerto internacional de Uganda. Está cerca de la ciudad de Entebbe, a orillas del lago Victoria. Uganda Airlines iniciará sus vuelos inaugurales a Nairobi (República Kenia) y Juba (República de Sudán del Sur) con una frecuencia de 2 vuelos diarios (2Fq/D) y a Mogadiscio (República de Somalia), tres veces al día (3Fq/D). La nueva aerolínea tiene planificado volar a Dar es Salam y Kilimanjaro (República de Tanzania) con una frecuencia diaria (1Fq/D) y Bujumbura y Mombasa (República de Tanzania) tres veces por semana (3Fq/S).

La nueva aerolínea de Uganda lanza vuelos promocionales que son ligeramente más bajos que otras aerolíneas.
