Aerolíneas de América Latina y el Caribe reclaman apertura

La Asociación Internacional del Transporte Aéreo (IATA), el Consejo Internacional de Aeropuertos para la región (ACI-LAC) y la Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte Aéreo (ALTA), han solicitado a los mandatarios de la región que flexibilicen la cuarentena de la pandemia para descomprimir el transporte aéreo a los efectos de reiniciar las operaciones de manera coordinada en la región. Se han llevado a cabo acciones concretas adoptadas por el Consejo de la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (OACI) y contenidas en el documento «Despegue: guía para los viajes aéreos tras la crisis de salud pública de Covid-19», el cual proporciona un marco para abordar el impacto de la pandemia en el sistema de transporte aéreo mundial, destinado a recuperar los viajes de una manera segura y sostenible. Las asociaciones firmantes de la carta también destacan en la misiva la necesidad de que los gobiernos implementen las recomendaciones rápidamente. “El sector está listo para volver a prender motores, pero necesitamos trabajar de la mano con los gobiernos para lograr que nos permitan despegar con información clara y acciones alineadas”, sostienen desde los organismos.

Según la IATA, uno de los organismo a aviación comercial en el mundo, espera pérdidas totales para 2020 por un valor de US$ 84.300 millones de Dólares para las aerolíneas a raíz de la pandemia.
