Aerolínea caribeña inaugura ruta en América del Sur
InterCaribbean Airways, con sede en las Islas Tucas y Caicos, ha anunciado servicios aéreos en América del Sur. La nueva ruta tendrá destino desde Turks and Caicos Islands Providenciales International Airport PLS/MBPV hacia Cheddi Jagan International Airport GEO/SYCJ en la capital de Guyana, Georgetown. El Gobierno de Guyana ha aprobado los derechos de tráfico de quinta y séptima libertad, mientras tanto se esperan las fechas para la apertura de las rutas. Las aerolíneas Fly All Ways de la República de Surinam e interCaribbean Airways han sido aprobadas para restablecer conexiones con la República de Guyana.

Caribbean airline inaugurates route in South America
InterCaribbean Airways, based in the Tucas and Caicos Islands, has announced air services in South America. The new route will go from Turks and Caicos Islands Providenciales International Airport PLS/MBPV to Cheddi Jagan International Airport GEO/SYCJ in the capital of Guyana, Georgetown. The Government of Guyana has approved the fifth and seventh freedom traffic rights, meanwhile the dates for the opening of the routes are awaited. The Fly All Ways airlines of the Republic of Suriname and interCaribbean Airways have been approved to reestablish connections with the Republic of Guyana.
The Republic of Guyana currently relies in part on many airlines for international route contacts. The air market is mostly covered by the Caribbean Airlines company of Trinidad and Tobago. Other airlines such as American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Copa Airlines and Surinam Airways represent a modest part of the segment of the routes to Guyana.
Incendio estructura instalaciones de Boeing en North Charleston
Las instalaciones de The Boeing Company en North Charleston en el Estado de Carolina del Sur ha tenido un incidente de incendio. The Boeing Company facility in North Charleston in the State of South Carolina has had a fire incident. Firefighters are responding to a structure fire initiation this Saturday afternoon 08/05 at the Boeing facility in North Charleston. According to the Charleston County Dispatch, the North Charleston Fire Department (NCFD) was called to the assembly building in the 5400 Block of International Boulevard around noon.
A witness said the fire appeared to be in a rear hangar where airplanes are built. Boeing released the following statement: «There was an isolated fire contained in the roof of one of the Boeing South Carolina buildings. The fire has been extinguished and there are no injuries or damage to the aircraft. Boeing is investigating the cause of the fire. primary concern is for the safety and well-being of our employees».

Avelo Airlines, the newest airline in the United States continues its expansion process from its headquarters in Los Angeles/Burbank. Prospects Avelo Airlines
Following the launch of the airline at the end of April, Avelo announced on May 6, 2021 that it would open a new base at Tweed New Haven Airport in Connecticut during the third quarter of 2021. The low-cost Californian airline will incorporate three Boeing 737-800s additional by the end of the year 2021 (4Q2021) as part of the expansion process in the United States. It also planned to invest US$ 1.2 million in the New Haven airport facilities, and that it would use Boeing 737-700 aircraft for its operations at the new base.

El Aeropuerto Ushuaia/SAWH de la República Argentina cuenta ahora con mayores posibilidades operativas a la hora de recibir vuelos en las condiciones meteorológicas generalmente complicadas y cambiantes que lo caracterizan, gracias al empleo de tecnología satelital denominada Navegación Basada en el Rendimiento/Performance Based Navigation (PBN).
La Empresa Argentina de Navegación Aérea S.E. (EANA), del Ministerio de Transporte, ha diseñado e implementado en Ushuaia dos nuevos procedimientos de entradas instrumentales PBN para la Cabecera 25, diseñados para ser volados en base a señales satelitales. Estas nuevas cartas de navegación local permiten realizar aproximaciones más precisas, tal como se realizan normalmente con señales emitidas por equipos terrestres, o radio-ayudas. De esta forma, si el radiofaro omnidireccional VOR, o el Sistema de Aterrizaje Instrumental ILS del aeropuerto salieran de servicio -tanto en forma repentina como programada, los vuelos no se verán afectados para aquellos aviones y tripulaciones habilitadas para aplicar los nuevos procedimientos instrumentales. Esto conlleva un beneficio directo para la conectividad de la Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego y de la ciudad de Ushuaia en particular, al ver reducidos los desvíos y las cancelaciones de vuelos.
El diseño de los nuevos procedimientos instrumentales PBN de Ushuaia SAWH insumió seis meses de trabajo y dos meses de capacitación para el personal del servicio de control de tránsito aéreo, previo a la implantación efectiva de las trayectorias satelitales. De esta forma, EANA prosigue su proyecto de mejorar y optimizar el espacio aéreo de la ciudad más austral de la Argentina.

The Ushuaia Airport/SAWH of the Argentine Republic now has greater operational possibilities when it comes to receiving flights in the generally complicated and changing meteorological conditions that characterize it, thanks to the use of satellite technology called Performance Based Navigation ( PBN).
The Argentine Air Navigation Company S.E. (EANA), from the Ministry of Transportation, has designed and implemented in Ushuaia two new PBN instrumental entry procedures for Header 25, designed to be flown based on satellite signals. These new local navigation charts allow for more precise approaches, as is normally done with signals emitted by ground equipment, or radio-aids. In this way, if the VOR omnidirectional radio beacon, or the ILS Instrumental Landing System of the airport were to go out of service -both suddenly and programmed, the flights will not be affected for those airplanes and crews authorized to apply the new instrument procedures. This entails a direct benefit for the connectivity of the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego and of the city of Ushuaia in particular, as diversions and flight cancellations are reduced.
The design of the new PBN instrumental procedures of Ushuais SAWH required six months of work and two months of training for the personnel of the air traffic control service, prior to the effective implementation of the satellite trajectories. In this way, EANA continues its project to improve and optimize the airspace of the southernmost city in Argentina.

Airbus Group SE has communicated the last report of the first quarter of 2021 (1Q2021) of the summary of orders and deliveries of commercial aircraft. The data is valid at the end of April 2021.
The corresponding deliveries for April 2021 represent 45 to 30 customers including 3 A220 (3), A320CEO (3) A320NEO (31), A330NEO (2), A350 (6). Formal orders for 04/2021 have been requested 48 units. Deliveries in the first quarter of 2021 to date represent 170 in 55 customers around the world.
El turismo en la República de México continúa mejorando con aumento en conectividad aérea de servicios nacionales e internacionales. El regreso progresivo de las aerolíneas hacia los aeropuertos de Cancún y Cozumel e incluso, el aumento de frecuencias y llegadas de nuevas rutas es prueba de que la recuperación turística del Caribe Mexicano continúa. Las nuevas rutas aéreas a Quintana Roo tendrán usuarios provenientes de Estados Unidos y Europa.
El 8 de Mayo de 2021 United Airlines estrena la ruta desde Los Ángeles hacia Cozumel, con llegadas programadas los Sábados a bordo de un Boeing 737-900. En Noviembre de 2020 se restablecía la ruta Denver–Cozumel con una frecuencia diaria, a partir del 09/05 incrementará a cuatro, llegando los Lunes, Miércoles, Sábados y Domingos. La Isla Cozumel tendrá a partir de Julio 2021, conexión directa con Europa con la llegada del vuelo de Iberojet desde Madrid, España. Cancún el 2 de Junio de 2021, la compañía colombiana Viva Air aterrizará proveniente de Medellín con una frecuencia de tres vuelos semanales (3Frq/S). Avianca Airlines ha anunciado su nueva ruta desde Medellín–Cancún a partir del 2 de Julio de 2021 y con tres frecuencias semanales (3Frq/S).
Los enlaces desde Estados Unidos hacia Cancún representan 42 frecuencias; anunciando por parte de Frontier Airlines un nuevo vuelo a partir del 10 de Junio de 2021 en la ruta Dallas–Cancún con tres frecuencias semanales (3Frq/S).
La conexión aérea con Europa continúa con aumento. La aerolínea Wamos Air tendrá una frecuencia semanal Madrid–Cancún los días Domingos, desde Madrid a Cancún. Iberojet iniciará la ruta Lisboa–Cancún a finales de Mayo 2021, con una frecuencia semanal, los Domingos y hacia Junio 2021 aumentará a dos frecuencias por semana (2Frq/S).
La aerolínea Level Airlines estrenará el destino México, aterrizando en Cancún con vuelos estacionales desde 2 de Julio al 28 de Agosto de 2021 en la ruta Barcelona–Cancún, con una frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S) en aeronaves Airbus A330-200, con capacidad para 314 pasajeros. Austrian Airlines ha anunciado la ruta Viena–Cancún a partir del 24 de Octubre de 2021 con dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) los Jueves y Domingo. Wingo Air restablecerá la ruta Bogotá–Cancún desde Octubre de 2021. La aerolínea de presupuesto colombiana ha estrenado la ruta desde Medellín–Cancún a finales de Marzo 2021, dos veces por semana, los Jueves y Domingo, y para Mayo 2021 se tiene prevista una tercera frecuencia, los Martes.
En el ámbito de vuelos domésticos, Volaris Airlines ha comunicado la nueva ruta Mexicali–Cancún que operará por primera vez a partir del 17 de Junio de 2021 con dos frecuencias semanales, los Jueves y Domingos.
El área de Planeación Estratégica del Consejo de Promoción Turística de Quintana Roo (CPTQ) ha expresado que desde Junio de 2020 a Febrero de 2021 se ha computado un tráfico de 2.314.601 pasajeros nacionales; 1.977.448 internacionales para un total de 4.292.049 que han llegado vía aérea al Caribe Mexicano.

Gobierno autoriza algunas programaciones internacionales
El Gobierno de Argentina ha anunciado esta semana la programación de los vuelos autorizados para viajes al extranjero que serán operados durante el mes de Mayo 2021, aunque las restricciones de suspensiones continúan en los vuelos hacia Brasil, Chile y México que continúan vigentes. Los vuelos aprobados se actualizan cada 15 días y la autoridad competente se lo comunica a las aerolíneas y a las agencias de viajes. Estos servicios tienen como objetivo mantener una separación de dos horas entre cada arribo.
Aerolíneas Argentinas tiene autorizada la operación de los siguientes vuelos para lo que resta de Mayo/Junio 2021: Buenos Aires-Ezeiza los Lunes, Miércoles, Viernes y Domingo; Buenos Aires/EZE-Madrid/MAD los Lunes, Martes, Jueves y Sábados. Air Europa volará el 4, 11 y 14/05; Madrid/MAD-Buenos Aires/EZE y Buenos Aires/EZE-Madrid/MAD será el 11 y 15/05. Iberia tiene autorizada para el 10 y 12/05 Madrid/MAD-Buenos Aires/EZE y viceversa. La aerolínea ha establecido programar nuevamente a la capital argentina con los Boeing 777-300(ER) a partir del 3 de Junio de 2021. Ryanair ha anunciado el desembarco de una filial de presupuesto en Suecia en su agresiva presencia de Ryanair en Escandinavia. Ryanair anunció este 06/05 que operará 89 vuelos semanales a 21 destinos desde su nuevo centro en Alranda, de los cuales los dos destinos son rutas domésticas suecas. Eddie Wilson, el Director General de Ryanair, ha expresado que “este movimiento creará sesenta puestos de trabajo en Arlanda y ofrecerá a nuestros clientes en Suecia destinos como Alicante, Bruselas, Londres, Milán, Salónica o Viena”. Actualmente, Ryanair opera desde Skavsta, que está a una hora de Estocolmo. Tiene operaciones en Gotemburgo, Malmö, Vasteras y Vaxio, pero con pocas conexiones entre sí, sobre todo con bases en otros países europeos.
Charlotte Ljunggren, responsable de Swedavia, la empresa operadora del Aeropuerto de Arlanda, no puede ocultar la satisfacción de saber que llega la aerolínea de más conexiones: “Su amplio número de destinos es una adición importante para nuestro aeropuerto, aumentando el acceso a Suecia”. La empresa piensa sobre todo en recuperar el volumen de negocio previo al Covid.

Las aerolíneas colombianas anunciaron medidas para no perjudicar a los viajeros debido a la situación que vive el país luego de una semana de manifestaciones y violencia en las calles. “Teniendo en cuenta las situaciones de orden público que se viven en las ciudades de Colombia, hemos ajustado los itinerarios de algunos vuelos programados. Las modificaciones se pueden realizar en la página, cambiando tu vuelo. Si tenías un viaje programado entre el 28 de Abril y el 7 de Mayo, la fecha se puede cambiar para viajar hasta 30 días después del vuelo inicial, sin costo adicional”, ha comunicado Avianca. Los usuarios con viajes programados en esta aerolínea también podrán aplazar su vuelo y dejar la reserva abierta, en caso de que aún no tengan claridad de la nueva fecha.
Latam Airlines Colombia dio a conocer que habrá flexibilidad en las reservas hechas hasta el próximo 7 de Mayo de 2021. Los pasajeros que hayan tenido que cancelar o reprogramar sus viajes, podrán cambiar la fecha de su vuelo sin tener que pagar una penalidad ni diferencia tarifaria, sujeta a vigencia del ticket. Las personas que viajen por esta aerolínea podrán cambiar el destino, sujeto a diferencia tarifaria y vigencia del ticket, o devolución del valor del ticket sin multa y sin importar la tarifa pagada.
Los trámites de reprogramación de vuelos se pueden hacer a través de las aplicaciones móviles de dichas aerolíneas y también mediante sus respectivos portales web.

Aerolíneas españolas contra la nueva tasa aérea
Las compañías temen que el nuevo impuesto en el servicio de la tasa aérea impacte profundamente en la crisis económica del transporte aéreo español. El plan del Gobierno para aplicar un nuevo impuesto a la aviación a partir del 2022 ha molestado a las compañías aéreas que operan en España. La propuesta está incluida en los documentos remitidos a Bruselas (Comunidad Europea) para preparar la llegada de los fondos de reconstrucción, y tiene por objetivo compensar las emisiones contaminantes del sector a través de una subida de tasas. Una medida que ya se había llevado a consulta pública a principios del año pasado pero que quedó aparcada con la irrupción de la pandemia. Ahora el Gobierno español la recupera, pero su coincidencia con la mayor crisis de la historia en la industria aérea ha levantado fuertes críticas de las compañías. “Un posible impuesto a la aviación comercial tendrá un efecto marginal en reducción de emisiones y devastador para el turismo, el empleo y la conectividad en un momento en que la industria lucha por su supervivencia”, afirma Javier Gándara, Presidente de ALA, la asociación que agrupa a la mayoría de aerolíneas que vuelan en España. Cuestiona el impacto de la medida. En caso de que se concretase mediante una tasa al combustible, una de las posibilidades, solo se aplicaría “sobre los vuelos domésticos, ya que los internacionales se rigen por convenios multilaterales”. Estos vuelos internos representan en España poco más del 10% del total de emisiones y muchos de ellos son esenciales, porque dan conectividad entre la Península y Baleares y Canarias. “Más que detraer recursos de la industria vía impuestos hay que invertir hacia una aviación más sostenible con alternativas al querosenos como electricidad o el hidrógeno, escalar la producción de biocombustibles y desarrollar las infraestructuras para que la aviación emita menos”, insiste Javier Gándara.
La Comisión Europea prepara también acciones en este sentido y planea obligar a las aerolíneas que vuelan en la UE a utilizar un porcentaje mínimo de biocombustibles para reducir la contaminación. Según las asociación de líneas aéreas, medidas estructurales como la implantación del cielo único europeo podrían ahorrar seis veces más emisiones en la aviación comercial que si se prohibiesen todos los vuelos domésticos dentro de nuestro país.
En todo caso, desde el Gobierno de España insisten en que la concreción del nuevo gravamen aún no está decidida como su fecha de entrada en vigor, aparte de que sería más allá del 2022. La Ministra para la Transición Ecológica, Teresa Ribera, sostuvo ayer que “la decisión se tomará a partir del año que viene porque también existe el debate en Europa». Teresa Ribera resaltó que de los € 70.000 millones que se movilizarán entre el 2021 y el 2023, un 40,29% de las inversiones serán para contribuir al cambio climático. Su Ministerio gestionará de forma directa € 15.339 millones, casi un 22% del plan. Además, subrayó que habrá mucha colaboración con las comunidades autónomas y los ayuntamientos. El mensaje que desean transmitir es que las ayudas europeas no son un fondo para las grandes empresas, sino para beneficiar a todos, como así también es que no todas las propuestas se cubrirán. Por ejemplo, para el hidrógeno verde se han presentado manifestaciones de interés por € 10.000 millones y los fondos europeos recogen € 1.555 millones para esta nueva tecnología.
