Las aerolíneas estadounidenses American Airlines y United Airlines continúan marcando una posición ventajosa frente a las aerolíneas mexicanas transportando en la ruta Estados Unidos—México más pasajeros internacionales que Aeroméxico y Volaris Airlines. Entre Enero y Septiembre de 2022, unos 36.930.000 pasajeros fueron transportados en vuelos internacionales, esto es 49.8% superior a 2021; y un 0.5% de incremento respecto a los 36.763.000 pasajeros transportados en ese lapso de 2019. Las aerolíneas estadounidenses tuvieron un flujo de 9.363.000 pasajeros, 31% más pasajeros que en el mismo lapso de 2021 y 36.5% más que en el mismo periodo de 2019. En el mismo período Aeroméxico y Volaris Airlines han transportado juntas 7.553.000 pasajeros internacionales, lo que significa un incremento de 46.8% comparado con los primeros nueve meses de 2021, según se desprende el informe provisto por el Secretario de Turismo Federal de México, Miguel Torruco Marqués.
El incremento de los vuelos y la fortaleza de la posición dominante en las rutas EEUU-México obedece a las sanciones impuestas por la agencia de la Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) de Estados Unidos en la Administración Biden. La baja en la categoría de seguridad en aviación ha retraído las capacidades de las líneas aéreas mexicanas para volar entre México y Estados Unidos.

The US airlines American Airlines and United Airlines continue to establish an advantageous position compared to Mexican airlines, transporting more international passengers on the United States-Mexico route than Aeroméxico and Volaris Airlines. Between January and September 2022, some 36,930,000 passengers were transported on international flights, this is 49.8% higher than 2021; and a 0.5% increase compared to the 36,763,000 passengers transported in that period of 2019. US airlines had a flow of 9,363,000 passengers, 31% more passengers than in the same period of 2021 and 36.5% more than in the same period of 2019. In the same period Aeroméxico and Volaris Airlines have transported together 7,553,000 international passengers, which means an increase of 46.8% compared to the first nine months of 2021, according to the report provided by the Secretary of Tourism Federal of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marques.
The increase in flights and the strength of the dominant position on the US-Mexico routes is due to the sanctions imposed by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) agency in the Biden Administration. The drop in the category of aviation security has reduced the capacity of Mexican airlines to fly between Mexico and the United States.
