American Airlines lanzamiento nueva ruta a las Bahamas

American Airlines ha lanzado una nueva ruta sin escalas a la isla de Gran Bahama en las Islas Bahamas. La aerolínea más grande del mundo ha lanzado un nuevo servicio entre Charlotte, Carolina del Norte (NC) y Freeport, Gran Bahama. Los vuelos inaugurales fueron recibidos este fin de semana por su subsidiaria American Eagle con una alfombra roja, una banda Junkanoo y Bahamas Goombay Punch para los visitantes que llegan. La nueva ruta sin escalas operará con una frecuencia semanal los Sábados (1Frq/S), en un gran impulso para la economía turística de la isla. American Airlines está operando el servicio en Bombardier CRJ-900 con capacidad para 90 pasajeros.

Es una de las dos nuevas rutas que se lanzan desde Carolina del Norte a las Bahamas, junto con el servicio que pronto debutará con Bahamasair entre Raleigh y Gran Bahama. «Hemos estado en Carolina del Norte recientemente con el Ministerio de Turismo, Inversiones y Aviación promoviendo la isla de Gran Bahama y este nuevo vuelo que es directo desde Charlotte, también tenemos a Raleigh próximamente, por lo que estamos muy entusiasmados con las oportunidades para la isla de Gran Bahama para este nuevo puente aéreo aumentado», dijo Ginger Moxey, Ministra de Bahamas para Gran Bahama.

El nuevo servicio fue el resultado de meses de negociaciones, según Nuvolari Chotoosingh, Gerente de Nichos de Mercado del Ministerio de Turismo de Gran Bahama. «Charlotte es un importante centro de aerolíneas fuera de los Estados Unidos y, por lo tanto, obtener un vuelo desde allí, particularmente con una aerolínea como American Airlines que pone a alguien del Medio Oeste en Charlotte y luego de Charlotte directamente en Gran Bahama, eso es fenomenal», dijo Nuvolari Chotoosingh.

A mediano plazo, el nuevo servicio también está llegando a Gran Bahama desde Toronto, Montreal y Orlando, según funcionarios de las Bahamas. «Queremos que la gente sepa que hay mucho que hacer en esta isla. Hay tantas gemas ocultas y creo que las personas que están aquí hoy van a poder experimentar eso. Gran Bahama, las cosas están mejorando. American Airlines launches new route to the Bahamas

American Airlines has launched a new nonstop route to Grand Bahama Island in the Bahama Islands. The world’s largest airline has launched new service between Charlotte, North Carolina (NC) and Freeport, Grand Bahama. The inaugural flights were greeted this weekend by its subsidiary American Eagle with a red carpet, Junkanoo band and Bahamas Goombay Punch for arriving visitors. The new non-stop route will operate weekly on Saturdays (1Frq/S), in a major boost to the island’s tourism economy. American Airlines is operating the service on Bombardier CRJ-900s with a capacity of 90 passengers.

It is one of two new routes launching from North Carolina to the Bahamas, along with Bahamasair’s soon-to-debut service between Raleigh and Grand Bahama. «We’ve been in North Carolina recently with the Ministry of Tourism, Investment and Aviation promoting Grand Bahama Island and this new flight which is direct from Charlotte, we also have Raleigh coming up soon so we’re very excited about the opportunities for Grand Bahama Island for this new augmented airlift», said Ginger Moxey, Bahamas Minister to Grand Bahama.

The new service was the result of months of negotiations, according to Nuvolari Chotoosingh, Manager of Niche Markets at the Grand Bahama Ministry of Tourism. «Charlotte is a major airline hub outside of the United States and so getting a flight from there, particularly with an airline like American Airlines that puts someone from the Midwest into Charlotte and then from Charlotte directly into Grand Bahama, that’s phenomenal», said Nuvolari Chotoosingh.

In the medium term, the new service is also reaching Grand Bahama from Toronto, Montreal and Orlando, according to Bahamian officials. «We want people to know that there is so much to do on this island. There are so many hidden gems and I think the people who are here today are going to be able to experience that. Grand Bahama, things are looking up. It’s taken, we’ve been through a lot», Ginger Moxey said.
